Which Park Best For Saturday/sunday????

Hello!! I need to know..from those of you who do....which parks are REALLY the best on a Saturday and Sunday for lowest crowd levels. The exact dates are Saturday - Sunday, May 6-7. I get so confused on this b/c the guidebooks and the unofficial website all seem to say something different in this respect. I know that it is absolutely impossible to really know for sure..but, if someone could give me a good idea I would be soooooooooo appreciative!! I am in full-fledged planning mode at this point and I'm trying to do my itinerary!

Thanks again!!!

Re: Which Park Best For Saturday/sunday????

I would stick to Epcot for the weekends or head over to MGM. If you opt to go to MGM, get there at the rope drop and tour till it gets crowded and maybe make this a half day touring and head to DTD or something for the evening.

For that particular weekend Epcot or the Disney studios would be your best bet.

Re: Which Park Best For Saturday/sunday????

Just so you are prepared, you're going right at the start of the Spring Break season, and no matter where you go, there will be crowds.

This is the last time I'll say my peace about crowds since I've said it twice before. Every year, more and more people are coming to WDW. No matter when you come or what park you go to, there is going to be a crowd somewhere. It's the #1 vacation spot IN THE WORLD, and there are billions of people in this world. You just have to remind yourself those crowds of people are here for the same exact reason you are. Keep your patience. After all, nearly all lines at WDW are under some sort of cover and have trivia, pictures, and other things to distract you while you wait so it's not like you're being tortured. No, waiting is not fun, but the sting isn't nearly as bad as one thinks either. And besides, there are many, MANY attractions at each park, so just come back to one that has a full line at a later time if you've already gotten a fastpass and can't get another yet. Don't let "crowds of people" ruin your time and the happiest place on Earth.

Re: Which Park Best For Saturday/sunday????

Well said, Matt. We always go to WDW in the summer so I never worry about crowds, I know it's going to be packed. It helps that I don't know any different, I have never gotten to go in the off season. I go expecting long lines and if we hit some short lines then we feel lucky.

Re: Which Park Best For Saturday/sunday????

Pete and I have been to WDW on:

Easter Week;
1st day of Star Wars Weekend;
4th of July;
New Year's Day.

We have never had a bad time because of crowds. You simply need to know what you want to ride/see/do that day, and you can manage it. Pete and I rode ToT 4 times on New Year's Day, and managed to get a PS for Hollywood & Vine even though I called 3 hours before we wanted to eat.

If you want help planning for high crowds, we can help you.

I don't know about that...I think spring break time is the end of March and in April. May is usually when schools are about to get out..thats why we go then..we always take my daughter out of school to go. Her spring break is the end of March.

Believe me there are many schools out there who start their break that weekend. I've worked here at WDW for nearly 2 years now, and it's been the same time for both years. Please understand I'm not trying to discourage you. I'm trying to help you so you'll have the most awesome time when you arrive. Being from Tennessee myself I especially love to help people from that direction. And if you're an MTSU fan, you've my full undivided attention. If you're a UT fan, well, you poor thing. You've my sympathy LOL Gotta love a little friendly rivalry.

Once you get a taste you'll never want to go back during peak season. We went Mid May last year and it was perfect. We moved our trip up a week so that we don't run into schools letting out. I agree with everyone, Epcot or MGM may be the best bet. I'm going to stay away from MK.

Steer clear of the Magic Kingdom on Sundays.

Re: Which Park Best For Saturday/sunday????

Goin back to answer your question, which I should've done in the first place: Epcot will be a really good bet b/c almost all the crowds only go to 2 locations: Test Track and Soarin. The lines for other attractions never get long. Only those 2. And even then Soarin's queue line has really cool trivia along the walls to keep your mind preoccupied.

Re: Which Park Best For Saturday/sunday????

What about Fridays??? are they typically good or bad for MK???

I made a ADR for CP (dinner) on a Friday...we were going to stay & watch the fireworks on our last night..but, if it will be more crowded than a Wednesday...I dunno......
