Spring Break Park Crowds?

I know that all of us here on the DC are from all over the county but I was wondering if anyone has or knows if any schools and/or colleges have spring break vacation the 1st week in April? And if there are how crowded are the parks, resorts etc?

DH and I werent thinking about this when we planned our vacations cause the kids here in NJ arent on spring break till I think its the 3rd week in April.

THANKS

Re: Spring Break Park Crowds?

I think you will find crowds all that month, but more so the closer you get to Easter. Most school do their spring break the week before or after Easter, so I know those two weeks are going to be seriously crowded. I think getting to the parks at open and hitting the headliners will be your best bet.

Make sure you have restaurant reservations, because there will be very few walk-ins during spring break weeks at Disney.

Here is a link where I asked about the same thing. We are in Indiana as well and have that week. Just be prepared and you will be fine.

Re: Spring Break Park Crowds?

Hi WED! If you plan well, go early and stay late, plus make reservations at restaurants, you will be completely fine! Even in a huge crowd, a great day is very DO-ABLE, and you will have a magical time! Don't worry!

I would say yes. That whole month will be crowded. But plan ahead and enjoy it regardless. You are at WDW afterall.

Re: Spring Break Park Crowds?

The crowd calendar at touringplans.com rates the first week of April as an 8 (10 being most crowded, 1 least crowded) every day but April 3, which is listed as a 9. They claim a good track record in their projections, but regardless, my personal experience living locally is that the entire month of April is pretty darn crowded. That's not to say, though, that you won't have a great time. Just expect it to be crowded and plan accordingly.

Re: Spring Break Park Crowds?

Yes it's extremely busy here, but like I tell all others who are worried about crowds, and like everyone else who's responded so far, just plan ahead and you'll be OK. Don't ever let the worry of being crowded ruin your fun.

Re: Spring Break Park Crowds?

We did the week before Easter several years ago, and in a word - busy. I found it far busier around Easter then during the summer months. In fact, they closed the MK the one day because of the crowds.

Re: Spring Break Park Crowds?

We are planning a visit right after Easter and are expecting the worst. I would plan on large crowds all day long, so our game plan is to go to the parks in the morning, go back to the hotel about mid-afternoon and return to the parks at about 4 or 5 PM. Just be prepared for major crowds all day long and just go into it with the intention of riding whatever is available and just have fun.

Re: Spring Break Park Crowds?

Thanks everyone for all the help. Like everyone has said even if the parks are crowded we arent going to let it get to us cause we are in Disneyworld.
I have been trying to make AR for dinner and such and plan our days and nights around the disney xtra magic hour that way we have more time in a certain park. I dont want to over plan too much cause sometimes that isnt too much fun and we like to just "wing it"

Thanks again you are all the best.

May is much better than April. The last two visits we had were in May and what I can say about our last two trips was that the crowds were minimal and the weather was perfect. I highly recommend going to WDW in May.
