Is December a slow time?
We just got back from our 2nd trip and we were REALLY surprised to find that this trip was even better for us than our last since it was even slower than when we went in Sept/04 . We were told that our last trip was during a very slow time & we enjoyed it but there were some longer waits or we used fast pass, but nothing too bad. I want to plan a trip for early Dec/07 & am wonering if it will be more like our Sept trip, or more like our early Feb trip. We feel spoiled now, knowing that it CAN be as quiet as it was this time. We literally walked on all the rides. At one point we rode Space Mountain 4 times in a row with NO waiting!! WE were just soo excited to find like this. Now I will admit that we had a couple of not great weather days, but even after that it stayed slow, We were there for 2 weeks & it didn't pick up until our last day! Will I be dissapointed with crowd levels if we go 1st week of Dec?

Re: Is December a slow time?
I don't think you'll find the first week of Dec as slow as your Feb trip, but the crowds are quite managable. Plus you'll have all the Christmas decorations and activities to enjoy, so it more than makes up for a slightly more crowded time...

Re: Is December a slow time?
Early December is probably the slowest time at WDW. Everything is walk on. The reason being, most American college students are getting ready for final exams. And with the Christmas break looming for American schools, parents are less likely to take their kids out of school for a whole week before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Another extremely slow time is the two weeks of January following New Years.

Re: Is December a slow time?
But December isn't as slow as it used to be. The Christmas festivities has really been drawing more and more folks down in recent years.

Re: Is December a slow time?
Thanks guys, I think that I'll be going no matter what, since the reason I want to go then is to see the decotations. I think it will put us in the Christmas spirit, BIG TIME.

yeah, I think seeing the amazing Christmas decos would make it worth the added crowds. Come see me in Canada during your December trip

Re: Is December a slow time?
I went the first week of December 2002 and it was super slow. Of all the times of year I have been, December was my favorite because I really enjoyed all the holiday decorations. It was like they made an already magical place even more magical! You will have a great time!

Re: Is December a slow time?
It wasn't all walk on for us in early December this past year. Less crowded than June, absolutely, but not all walk ons. I say go when you want to. It is quite beautiful for the holidays though. The decorations are breathtaking!

Re: Is December a slow time?
I'm certainly looking forward to the "magical" being even more magical withh all the decorations. I can't believe I'm already wanting to start planning another holiday & I've only just arrived back... I think I'm turning into a Disney junky!

Re: Is December a slow time?
It is very slow in early December. However, my cousin went in early February and from what he said, it seemed much less crowded (except for the cheerleaders). You wouldn't be making a mistake by going in early December. You get all the benefits of Christmas time (decorations, MVMCP, Osbourne Lights, etc) and none of the horrendous crowds.

Re: Is December a slow time?
Anyway, the week of Feb 5-11 was slow Monday-Wednesday. The cheerleader crowds started showing up on Thursday. Feb 12-14 was the busiest I have ever seen at WDW, as we usually go in December or January. This was the week before the President's Day weekend, and so I guess that had an effect (plus the cheerleaders were still around ruining rides for everyone).
