Autograph books?

Do they sell them at the gift shops in the hotels? I'd like to get my daughter one, for the princess and character breakfasts. But I'll just buy one in Disney, like a princess one or something, if they sell them there, instead of getting one at home.

Yes, they sell them at the Disney Resort Gift Shops. However I think they are all a generic Disney World Standard, I do not think they have variations like Princesses and the sort... I could be wrong, but I only remember seeing the blue ones with the main Disney characters on the cover.

You should also buy an Autograph Pen for ease of use for the characters. These are in all different varieties. Also be sure to have the pen ready to use and cameras ready at each of your Character meals you go to, this makes a big difference.

Don't leave the hotel without the autograph book. We decided to buy ours at the Emporium when we got into MK. Of course as soon as we got into the park there were characters everywhere. Now when we look at the pictures, my 3 year old says, there's Friar Tuck and the White Rabbit, we didn't get their autograph Mommy!

We have looked for different variations of the book, but have never found anything other than the blue cover with Mickey and the gang on it. What we do to distinguish each different trip is on the inside cover, instead of putting our home address where it says address, we put the room number and resort that we stayed in as well as listing the dates of the trip on the top of the inside cover.

Don't forget a pen!!

By all means get the book!!!!! :) They only cost $5-6. They make great souvenirs and are fun to take out and enjoy forever. The good thing about using the blue books available at the resorts and parks is that because many of the characters have a difficult time seeing the page and ensuring that the page and signature are the right sizes, the Disney books are a well known size for the characters. Also, often the character "hands", paws, etc, make handling the pens difficult. I strongly recommend using a pen that is big around. You may also on occassion find that it is necessary to assist the character in "holding" the pen and securing the book. The characters are all trained in signing autographs. Reading the autographs afterward is so much fun! The handwriting is a hoot!
Our kids loved it! And so did we!

Yes. They sell the big round decorative pens right next to the autographs books. They too make a great souvenior. I think I paid $3 - $4. :)

Is this something a 2 year old would enjoy doing?? I hadn't really thought about buying her an autograph book but it seems like a good idea.

Most definitely! :) It gives you "time" to establish a conversation with each character. Also, you and your child will forever be able to "read" the autographs and appreciate the different handwriting techniques. Usually what the characters do is just sign their names but they receive quite a bit of training on just how to do that. The book will be a good tool to use to help your child remember the trip.

When we took our DD at 2 yrs, she loved getting the autographs especially at the character meals. She would see a character coming and hold up the book and pen. She is also a doodler and we let her doodle on the unused pages in the back of the book. We figure, many years from now it will not only be a memorable souvenier, but a keepsake of our DD's artwork.

ABSOLUTLY! Our first trip my boys were 4 and 2 and the little one loved it and they both got a real kick out of getting the autographs! It also makes for great photo ops!:)

Definitely! When we went in September, my daughter was 2 and son was 4. We got autograph books for both kids, and she absolutely LOVED going up & getting autographs, getting hugs from the characters, etc. After the first few, she even started requesting that we find Minnie (her favorite character at the time) so she could get an autograph. She walked through Minnie's house in Toontown yelling "Hey Minnie! Minnie, where are you?" which the other park attendees thought was hilarious! We were able to find Minnie later in Toontown, and Kierstin was in Heaven! We just pulled the autograph books out yesterday, as a matter of fact, as we prepare for our February trip, and both of the kids have been talking non-stop about getting autographs again.

Remember to put your name & address inside the front cover of the autograph book. If you happen to lose it & a CM finds it or it is turned in by someone else, WDW will mail it to your home. And by all means do it. My DD did one when she was 12 & still pulls it out to look at it when she needs a fix!:) :) :)

The only time I've ever seen an autograph book with a different colour other than the blue was in 2000. I have one. It's red and it's got Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto on the front with a big 2000.

I'm not really into getting autographs, but I've seen kids(and adults) go ga-ga over getting them. I love getting my picture taken with the charcaters, but I don't bother with the autographs.

Based on all your replies we will definetly get Emilie a book when we get there. I hope to buy it at CBR before we depart for our first park so we will have it just in case.

I told my DD a week ago we were going to see Pooh, Mickey, and Cinderella in March and that is all she has talked about since. She keeps asking when is March, she is 2 she doesn't quite get the time concept yet, it is just too cute! :)

The autograph books are really fun. You should have no problem getting one at CBR but if you do, don't worry. They sell them at the kiosks just inside the gate at MK, MGM, Epcot & AK. They are everywhere... pens too! Don't forget the pen because the characters don't have them!
