Construction in the World Showcase?

Just returned from the World and saw there was construction being done in Japan and China. I did a search of the forums, but didn't see anything. Anyone know what is being done?

Hmmmm, maybe there is a new country being developed that we don't know about?!?!? One can only hope. It's probably a refurb though. What kind of construction did ya see?

It looked like a pagoda (I think that is the term) behind towards the back and left in Japan. It looked like a they were redoing the front of the building where the movie is in China.

I heard it was Canada, China and Mexico...to start in late 2006 or early 2007.
I had heard they were adding to the mexico boat ride and updating the circlevision movies in canada and china

ahh... I was just playin', but if there is an area that has to be skipped it will always be the World Showcase... I love the front part of Epcot... But the Worldshow Case is just not as apealling to me.

aww really??? i love the world showcase... heck i love it all! but if theres anything that i would skip it would be some of the lands at AK... the world showcase is lots of fun!

While DW and I have always enjoyed the WS, this was the first year DD really got into it. We ended up spending the better part of a day ( and the better part of our soveineer dollars ) in the WS this past trip. For me it was great. I got to spend time really examining some of the architecture while DW and DD shopped their little hearts out, lol.

Wasn't China's movie just re done like a year ago? I would love to see a new movie in Canada, but I hope they leave in the O' Canada song!

From what I could see last night as we walked through, it looked just like they were doing painting and other maintenance. I will see if I can find if it is anything else.
