I (before marriage) have been to Blizzard Beach.

My family (wife, son, and myself) will be going to Typhoon Lagoon in May.

From what I gather... if you are more into thrill water rides... go to BB. If you want to Relax a bit more and may be curious to snorkel with Tropical fish then go to TL. Both seem to have excellent theming (although BB may be a bit more unique).

I hear you should arrive early at either in order to get in.

I agree with WDW fan. Typhoon Lagoon feels smaller and "tamer". Blizzard Beach has more slides to choose from -- although these aren't all "thrill" slides, some are no more than a sliding board at the playground. So, if you want to just play in the wave pool and lazy river thing, go to Typhoon as it will probably be less crowded. If members of your party are interested in the water slides, go to Blizzard Beach as you can do the wave pool and innner tube floating thing plus sample a wider variety of water slides. Check out the slide listings on Disney's web pages to compare what's at each park, although don't go by their actual fear-factor description! At least, I disagree with them in many cases -- finding rides which sounded scary to be not so, and ones which sounded like a breeze to be very scary!

Thanks for the help. I guess TL is probably better for us with the varied age group but blizzard beach sure does sound fun....

We actually prefer TL...I don't swim, but my DD & DH prefer the wave pool there. My sister likes the "swim with the sharks" thing. I just like the way it's laid out better...don't ask me specifically why, just do.

Someone told me that there is more magic at TL, partly b/c you can see the interstate from BB is this true? Also we won't be anywhere near the wave pool, I almost drowned in one when I was a kid so I am wary. What are the slides like at TL what's the kids area like? I don't know why I'm so obsessed with this. We should just get on whatever bus comes first and go I guess.
thanks

Thanks for asking this question, I'm stuck between the 2 also. My sister would probably like BB better but the rest of us TL. But it helps to here all the opinions! :D

Blizzard Beach

Has that awesome kid kamp or whatever it's called fo the young ones. Watching them play in there makes me wanna be little again so I could play on those floating iceburgs. That just looks like a ton of fun.

The family raft ride at Blizzard Beach is superior to that which is at Typhoon Lagoon. It's faster and more exciting.

The only thing at Blizzard Beach that's a slight bummer is the stairclimb if you choose not to take the ski lift, (and that line can get LONG), Can you say CALF MUSCLES?

The family raft ride does sound like one of the main things we want to do so if it's funner at BB..... Aaarggh, I don't know why this is so hard for me, I wish we had time to go to both. I guess I'm just scared we are going to miss some great time if we make the wrong decision. I hope people keep posting there opinions and advice on the topic. I have until May, maybe I'll have decided by then
thanks everyone

There seems to be more shade at TL too, but maybe that's just in my mind.

Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

Blizzard Beach is more for the slides and the thrills. Nothing better that a ride down the lazy river than stopping at the Cabana for a little rfreshment
