crowds and heat for september trip

HI everyone we are going to WDW in spetember 10 to the 19th for our anniversary. i checked a couple web sites that said the crowds are usually low to medium that time of year. my question is this correct? also what is the weather like is it the summer hot? humidity? my DH really wants to be there for our 25th he has been ill and i cannnot think of a more perfect place to celebrate our 25 years together. there has been some times i felt that only magic and god got us thru his illness. so not to be too sappy we want to celebrate in the place that makes everything feel better. . also do you think with the free dining th crowds will be worse. we can deal with the heat better then the crowds.
one more stupid question. since the crowds are lower is AR needed as much they are in the summer. i know it is hurrican season so we will buy travel insurance. thanks bunches for all your help i am just freakin out a little.

We went last September. Small crowds but the temp did hit 90.

Temp will be a gamble. I've been in WDW with January highs in the 80's. I'd say go with the crowd index. Hope for no hurricanes!

No matter when you go - I hope you have a wonderful time after your bad times. We always use to go in September. We loved it - it was hot, but the crowds were low.

Re: crowds and heat for september trip

the crowds are small in september because kids are back to school. i don't know what the temperature will be for that time only because we've gone twice in september and it was at the end of the month. the temps then were around mid 80s during the day and at least high 50 to low 60s at night. very comfortable weather.

Re: crowds and heat for september trip

The crowds may be up because of the free dining plan! If you are going to use it, make reservations (ADR's). I seem to remember something about the crowds being up last year over other Septembers and it was hard to get table service restaurants because everyone was using free dining!!!! have a great trip!

Re: crowds and heat for september trip

We were there around sept 3rd for about a week this past year. Crowds were wonderful...most major attractions didn't even open fastpass distribution centers because there was no need!

For weather, when we were there, it was high in the upper 80's, fairly humid, but didn't rain once, how lucky!! Still count on it being very warm and balmy!

Have a blast!

Re: crowds and heat for september trip

Just hope they aren't getting a whopper hurricane the time you're there. I know when we were there in October it was high humidity and low 80's ... hot for us since we're from New England, but then again, we were happy to be in WDW so it didn't matter.

Re: crowds and heat for september trip

As a veteran of the deep south and the gulf coast, early Sept. is still summer and expect hot. Like NP says, you're biggest weather concern are hurricanes. August and September are pretty much the peak of the season.
