Extra Magic Hours

I'm confused the hours for May 29th at MK says the park is open till midnight then below it has a link to extra magic hours does that mean the park is open till 2 or 3 am? Or midnight?

I have just checked the site and there are no EMH on the 29th! Do you mean the 28th or the 30th?

If it's the 28th the park will be open to resort guests until 3am. If it is the 30th it will open at 8am to resort guests.

Having the Magic Kingdom to just resort guests after Wishes and park close is the best. All of the rides are still open and stay open, unlike the mornings when rides don't always open with the park, or perhaps until late morning for operational reasons.

Jenn....My DW, DS & I have great memories of this from 2003. After the MK closed to the public we, and hundreds of our closest friends

rode the Disney Mt. range (Splash,Space & Big Thunder) to our hearts content. Along with HM, POTC & Buzz. We also had wonderful quality time with the characters after 1 AM because a lot of guests had already left by then. The greatest moment of all was walking hand in hand in hand down Main street with the music playing as the three of us made our way out of the park at 2 in the morning. It was a night I will treasure always

Jen....We were very surprised that there were so many characters out that late. All the "Classics" were out...Mickey,Minnie,Goofy,Pluto,Daisy,Chip & Dale. It was great because there weren't that many guests so the interaction between the characters and the three of us was incredible. It wasn't the usual meet one character and move on...they took group shots and chased our DS around the front of the castle. It was so much fun.

That sounds great. Do you think that some park goers that are not resort guests stay even when they should'nt? I just wonder how they handle that.

If you do not have the wrist band , you are gently guided to the gates. the xtra hours are awesome. Some of the best magic.

So will we be able to have our picture taken with several characters at one time? Do our chances increase the later we stay? Or does it depend on the CM? Only asking because 2 years ago went we went AK opened early and there was hardly anyone there. We were at Camp Minnie Mickey and about 4 characters were there and no one else was around. The CM said we couldn't take our picture with all the characters but we could one at a time.

I have a question - Is everything open (i.e Ice Cream parlors, gift shops, restaurants) or just the rides?

Mostly the attractions. I think some of the shops are open, but very few.
