Mother's Day at WDW.
We're getting really close and are very excited. We've planned to do some things on this trip that we have not done before. 1) Soarin' - 2) Illuminations - 3) EE ... and I'm sure there are some others.
So, with our trip happening during Mother's Day, my DW has said that since we've spent a lot of $ getting this trip together, that the trip could be her Mother's Day gift. Well, I can't let that go alone. I'd like to do a little something special. Anyone have any ideas? The weather forecast looks good so far and I hope that the crowds won't be too bad.

Re: Mother's Day at WDW.
I think a nice dinner would be perfect. Maybe a cute necklace as a gift from the kids. Nothing over the top, but something that marks the day.

yeah i was deffinately thinkin of a nice dinner as well. Maybe a really good place to stand during Illuminations. That pyro-show is a gift in and of itself. A GREAT spot to view it is on the balcony of the Japan pavilion.

Re: Mother's Day at WDW.
Thanks for the suggestions.
We had already planned to go to MGM our first day (Sunday) and I have an AR for the Sci-Fi Diner (which she really likes), so I got dinner covered for Mother's Day. I wonder if there is any merchandise that I can get while we're there that has Mother's Day 2006 on it?

There will most likely be lots of merchandise. I know for a fact there will be Mothers Day pins if you are into that. And they seem to have Mickey ears for every holiday (so far the Cinco de Mayo and St. Patricks Day were my favorites). Since Mothers Day is a major one, I am sure there will be a lot to choose from....I would hope at least.

Re: Mother's Day at WDW.
There is a mother's day brunch at Epcot,,,, it sounds nice, but kind of pricey (I think like $45 for adults, $20 for kids). Also, mothers can get a free picture in Epcot on the 14th only:
" Mother's Day May 12, 13 & 14 Celebrate Mom's special day by stopping by the Festival Center to see the Mother's Day floral display. Moms are treated to a flower and a photo, exclusively on May 14th. " |

Re: Mother's Day at WDW.
I believe they give away flowers upon entrance to MK on mothers day (they did 2 years ago) and had a free mothers day photo spot near England last year at Epcot. They shipped the photo's directly to your house.
