We're planning a family trip with a 2,3,and 6 year old. We're trying to decide if we should rent a stroller (or strollers) or bring our own. In the past when we've had two strollers the kids all wind up in one and we wind up pushing an empty one.
We're wondering if we should just rent one double stroller. Is there a long wait to get one? Do they recline for naps? Is it big enough for a tired average size 6 year old to sit in?

what i have learned thru my research about thye rental stroller:

NO they don't recline
YES they are big enough for a 6 year old
there is usually NOT a long wait for one...pretty quick from most posts i've read.

you can rent daily, or "length of stay" (cheaper)...

Welcome to Disney Central Steph! Lots of threads around here on stroller rental, pros and cons.

We almost always rent a double, for the extra room. They do not recline. And the waits for the strollers depend on the time of day. But the line always moves very quickly.

Thanks so much that's very helpful. I was also wondering if they allow small coolers for sippy cups and snacks to be brought into the park and are there baskets under the rental strollers for diaper bags etc.

You can bring food and drinks in even though the official word is no. There are no baskets under the MK strollers. I see a lot of poeple with stuffin the sun shade and in the foot area.

We like to bring our own stroller with us, it's a long walk to the bus stop or resort room with a sleeping child. Do you have a double stroller at home? We usually buy a cheap umbrella stroller before we leave home and don't bring it home. Last summer we found a nice family to pass it off to on our last evening.

Funny you should ask- just an hour ago I went to a children's consignment store (all of the items there were like new!) and purchased a very nice Century stroller with a huge basket under the seat, DOUBLE cup holders, and a reclining seat for $25.

Why? Because the price of stroller rentals at WDW has gone through the roof! My son is 6, but our days go much better if he rides in the stroller. Last December it really bothered me to pay almost $80 for stroller rental for the week! When you go at a peak time, they do not give you a discount for multiple days.

So, if anyone would like my stroller when we are done using it on June 17th, please let me know. We will be staying at PC, and I would be happy to pass the stroller along for the fee of one Margarita :)

That's a good idea. We should be able to pass along strollers to each other. I will be traveling Sept 28 - Oct 8. I'd be willing to pass along my stroller when I'm done. Any takers??

That's a nice offer, I hope you can find someone to pass it on to. If you can't find a DCer to give it to I'm sure you will find someone at WDW who could use it.

When we went in Jan. We rented the double stroller for the week. I am not sure how much it was but if we rented it daily it would have been $18 a day! It came in handy because we didn't have to lug the stroller on and off the bus because we used disney transportation. It was great, there was extra room for our stuff and my kids were very comfortable in it!

They have those three wheeled ones at Disneyland, the joggers. I rented one on Friday because Marie got some blisters. It was like $9 I think.
