Icon5 Past WDW Prego Mom's?

I will be 20 weeks pregnant when we go in July. Will I be able to enjoy some of these attractions in the Parks or will I just be the designated "purse holder"? I have read some info about some rides not recommended for pregnant women like the jeep ride in Animal Kingdom. Now come on, I've rode that before, and I didn't think it was dangerous. Will they refuse to let me go on board certain rides if they can see I am pregnant? Believe me, I'm not looking to ride Space Mountain, etc. but I don't see why I can't enjoy the simple stuff....any opinions I appreciate. Thanks.

Welcome to DC!

I know how you feel, but it's best to follow the warnings. A lot of times the reason pregnant women aren't supposed to ride isn't something you'd think about, like the position of your legs in a seat rather than the wildness of the ride.

I'd go on the side of caution, and ask your OB about it.

You can still have a fun trip! There's still plenty to do!

I think another reason for the warnings may be the way the harness or seatbelt comes down on a pregnant belly, too. I would use common sense and skip the roller coasters, misson space, etc. But I would think the safari ride would be okay.

Just to be on the safe side, call your doctor, tell him what you want to do, and he will probably give you the green light! Then you can play without worrying about anything! Have a great trip...

Re: Past WDW Prego Mom's?

I was five months pregnant my first time to Ak... It had just opened and I asked about that ride when I got to the front of the line. They said that it was fine as long as you ask to sit in front...
Good advice to ask you doctor first!!!! Have a good trip and drink lots of water and rest as much as you can!!!

Re: Past WDW Prego Mom's?

Welcome to DC! There will still be LOTS for you to do at WDW - in fact you should treat it as a trip where you look out the things you haven't done before - and give them a try. All the shows, etc. Kilomanjaro Safaris is one of those rides that is on the "cusp". Most of it would be fine - but the last few minutes. I just don't know. We've had drivers that make it seem pretty tame, but we've also had drivers where we've practically been thrown out of the truck. Don't take chances. You'd hate for anything to happen at WDW - where you should only be having good memories.

Re: Past WDW Prego Mom's?

I went when I was 7 months pregnant with DD (now almost 11). AK wasn't around yet, but in the other 3 parks I never felt like I missed out on anything (except Body Wars, which made me sick the next time I went so I don't do that any more).
