Icon5 Osbourne Lights

Any thoughts on when WDW will release the dates for Osbourne Lights at MGM?

Re: Osbourne Lights

In the past, they have started the last week or so of November (if I remember right), and it runs every night up until the first of the year.

Honestly, ever since they tore down Residential Street, the lights have never been the same. I will probably skip them this year.

Re: Osbourne Lights

Last year was my first year to see the lights and they were wonderful. I know we were in WDW the week before Christmas. I would definitely want to see them again if I were in the parks.

Re: Osbourne Lights

I've only seen since they tore down Residential Street. They were gorgeous, but there's something about seeing The Golden Girls house decorated for Christmas that I think would have been wonderful. Oh well, they're beautiful anyway!! And yes, I believe they light them Thanksgiving weekend and keep them going until the 2nd or 3rd of January (with construction of exhibit beginning some time in September which is an attraction in itself)

Got to agree...they were better on residential street.

Still, that's a heck of a lot of lights to see. (I think the "snow" is strange...smells like soap bubbles.)

Re: Osbourne Lights

I can tell you they leave them up to include Marathon weekend, which this year will be Jan 7th/8th.

I saw them for the first time last year and I was quite impressed.

Re: Osbourne Lights

The Osborne Lights were up and running last year in the beginning of Nov. It was the Monday after ABC Super Soap Weekend. It was the weekend of Nov 12 and 13. This year they are supposed to start them the first of Nov. I know they are having Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party earlier this year. My family and I are getting Tickets for Nov 13th.

Re: Osbourne Lights

The quick answer No they have not released exact dates yet.

However generally as a rule of thumb it runs from Thanksgiving through the 1st week in Jan.

Thanks, Krix, I was thinking I'd seen this same info somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I remember being pleasantly surprised to see them move the dates up last year. When we went in '04, they didn't start until the day before Thanksgiving.

Re: Osbourne Lights

These dates were posted on the Dibb.co.uk. November 13, 2006 - January 7, 2007. On the front page of this website, there is an article about holidays at WDW. If you click on it, there is a ton of information. Unfortunately, no date on when the Candlelight Processional Dinner Packages go on sale, that is what I was looking for when I stumbled onto the answer to your question. Hope that helps!
