Icon9 Going through Withdrawal <vent>

Sorry, just have to get this out. Our last trip was the end of last October. I think this is the longest we have gone without a weekend trip to see the Mouse. Tomorrow is my birthday and I REALLY REALLY wanted to go. (My mother the other day even asked if I wanted to head out to WDW this weekend...she and my dad are going through withdrawal too). Unfortunately, we had to get 4 tires for the minivan <credit card> and were informed by the Nissan dealer that we need to get front and back brakes soon. Dh and I have have seasonal tickets but we still have to get one for ds. So that would be $182 through AAA, plus the cost of gas ($45 per way), tolls both ways ($15 or so per way) plus the cost of a hotel room and food. Needless to say, unless dh gets a side job tonight bringing home at least $300, my birthday tomorrow wont be spent at WDW. How disappointing!

Re: Going through Withdrawal <vent>

So sorry this rough patch has to coincide with your birthday. Better to get ahead on all of your bills first, then you will really be able to enjoy yourself at WDW without worrying that you are putting yourself deeper in debt. I know you are disappointed but try to count your blessings and enjoy your birthday with your husband and son.

Pixie dust sent your way for a very happy birthday!!

Sorry to hear that. But I hope you have a Happy Birthday anyways! Maybe your Birthday present to yourself could be to start planning a weekend trip in the next few months!

Aww Cara...that sitnks. I am so sorry that you won't get to WDW for your birthday. How about postponing it...I do it all the time. Wait a bit and make some weekend WDW plans and also celebrate your day. It's not the same of course, but it's better than nothing right? I hope you find some magic tomorrow.

Re: Going through Withdrawal <vent>

Make your DH cook you a disney birthday dinner or breakfast. Mickey pancakes, a recipe from allearsnet.com from your fav restaurant? I realize most men don't cook very well, or just refuse to try , but if he can, hey it's worth a shot. Just try to have fun anyway. Happy birthday!

Re: Going through Withdrawal <vent>

Awww Cara that's a bummer! But I agree with Dana...maybe you could postpone your bday celebration a little bit? Then you could still enjoy it at Disney, even if it's a late celebration. Better late than never, right?

Whatever you do, have a GREAT birthday!

Happy Birthday!!
And, look on the bright side: at least you live THAT close where a weekend trip, or even a day trip isn't entirely out of the question! (no airfare or hotels to worry about!) I'm sure you'll get there soon, and then you can celebrate all over again!

Re: Going through Withdrawal <vent>

Sorry that you have dumb ol' expenses that are keeping you from the mouse.

Just plan a "Unbirthday" celebration when your finances get a bit better! (hope it's real soon!)

Meantime, have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
