Disney Dreams!

Has anyone heard of Disney’s “Year of a Million Dreams”? I guess they are going to make a million people’s Disney dreams come true and the first one is getting Disney World all to yourself! That would be sweet. It’s on www.mydisneyparks.com.

Re: Disney Dreams!

Can you imagine how much money Disney would loose if they shut down the parks for a day just so one family could have it to themselves. I bet it is more like a sharply reduced number of guest during that day (like 1/3 capacity).

I just can't see the them shutting down the revenue generator for a promo.

(think about it you just can't fire up a ride so they have to keep them running the whole day which means a lot of bored CM standing around waiting for that 1 family to show up and ride...then you have the parade. Can you imagine being a CM and doing the parade to an empty park...spooky)

Re: Disney Dreams!

I cannot imagine having them close the park either- perhaps its one day of an early opening? Just for them?

Re: Disney Dreams!

I could see an early day, but not the whole day. I don't think I would want the park to myself for the whole day, it would be too wierd.

Re: Disney Dreams!

I read somewhere that they will allow other guests into individual lands after the guest family finishes their tour of that land.

Could you imagine paying what you have to pay to go to WDW and then not being able to go to a land or being shoed out of a land because it is being used by a family that won a contest.

That might kill the magic for a few people.

(I don't know just call me Mr Wet Blanket today )

No,Tigger,I totally agree with you. I would be more than a bit po'd if I spent all that money to come to Disney only to be told,"Sorry, you can't come today, another family gets disney to themselves!"

Re: Disney Dreams!

I read it on allearsnet.com. This is a quote from their article:

The winning family will enter Magic Kingdom on a red-carpeted Main Street, U.S.A. lined with cast members in place for their exclusive visit. They'll enjoy a VIP itinerary as they tour each land of the park, experience favorite attractions and visit favorite characters.

"As the winning family leaves each land, other guests will fill the park behind them -- ensuring plenty of spectators as they make their way back down Main Street, U.S.A. as grand marshals of the daily parade. The winning family will conclude their remarkable visit by enjoying the spectacular fireworks over Cinderella Castle from a special viewing location. "

One one hand, it would be awesome to tour MK with your family without having to deal with the crowds in front of you. On the other hand, I would be a bit agrivated about having to wait on that family to finish touring a land before I can even think of setting foot into it.

Re: Disney Dreams!

I would love it if I were the family that won. By the way I looked at the link and where do you sign up for a chance to win?

I agree also that I would be so mad if I were there and could not go into certain places until that family was finished.

not only that, but how much fun would that be without any people there to know that you are the special family

Re: Disney Dreams!

Hey thanks for posting more info on it!! Disney would never inconvenience their guests, I knew they'd have some strategic plan for making this happen and they do...no worries : ) I think it sounds amazing. This is only the first of the dreams to be granted...I wonder what's next.
