Age of Kids for water parks
our kid are 4 & 6, and have never been to a waterpark with waterslides etc. What is a good age for them to go. We are thing of going to one when we go to WDW in December. They are not strong swimmers, but are comfortable in the water. Any thoughts?

Re: Age of Kids for water parks
I took my youngest, when he was 6yo, to Typhoon Lagoon and he loved the wave pool and I saw a lot of really young kids[2yo or so] playing in the waves right at the beach. The depth of the water in the wave pool is only about a foot deep when you are out 20 feet.

Re: Age of Kids for water parks
My kids are 2 4 and 6. My kids love the water and are great swimmers (well the 2 oldest ones). We go to waterparks in our area and they love them the problem i have is that they want to do the water slides or rides and they aren't tall enough for them.
I looked at the height requirements and my kids are too little to do anything. I'm sure they have awesome splash play pools but my kids will see the rides and want to go on them. I think your kids would love a water park. Don't worry about swimming skill before they have life jackets. I don't think we will going to go to a water park. We have serveral water parks in the area and i really want to see Disney. |

Re: Age of Kids for water parks
We've bene to BB several times with our DS and they have a place for babies-about 5 year olds and a place with iceburgs for the 4-10 year old group and then all the slides. There is a tube slide that has double tubes and I don't think there is an age/size limit as long as they can get out of the splash pool at the bottom. If you use a double tube you can help them get out so that's not a problem.
My DS is a pretty good swimmer but w/o his glasses he's pretty much blind so the water parks are a tough place for him. He does fine but I was really worried about him the first time we went. The CMs we had to talk to about him were wonderful and very helpful when I explained that he couldn't see the stairs at the bottom and wouldn't know where to go if I didn't help him.
