Grad Nights???

I was just on the touring plans website and it listed the last 2 nights of our Apirl trip as Grad Nights. What happens on those nights. Does the MK close early? Is is super crowded?

Most groups don't get here untill 4 or 5 that afternoon, The magic Kingdom does close around 6pm.

Re: Grad Nights???

It's pretty much that same as other special events (NoJ, MNSSHP, MVMCP). Crowds will build in the late afternoon, but day traffic should be normal.

Re: Grad Nights???

My experience with grad nights seems to be much different.
We hated being there during grad nights!
The teenagers were there ALL WEEKEND regardless of time and really have no respect for families visiting WDW. (Sorry teenagers)
Every ride we rode had groups of teenagers in line and on our "car" or "boat".
Most thought it was okay to swear in front of my kids or stand up on Splash mountain or throw their trash out of the ride.
Ugh. It was awful and we will never go again any where near grad nights at WDW.

Re: Grad Nights???

might be fun if you are a teenager......but i can see it being annoying if you are not.

Re: Grad Nights???

I went to Grad Night 89 and it was awesome! It was the first time I rode Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain cuz I had never been a roller coaster fan. I'm still not a fan of them but these 2 I like!

The musical acts at the time that I can remember were New Kids on the Block, Samantha Fox and Information Society. I know there was someone else but I can't remember who

YUCK! Of course the great thing about WDW is there are 3 other parks and tons of other stuff to do on days like these. (You've all heard dhoughton and I rant about "Cheerleader week." )

Yes, I do remember those conversations!

We learned that quickly and did move parks, but grad nights basically took all weekend - All Day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They don't leave - they linger. It was a little hard to escape them totally.
