I don't know if this was previously posted, but I just read on Mouseplanet that the Jungle Cruise is scheduled to be refurbished in 2008 with budget of $13 Million, and Space Mountain is also scheduled to be refurbished with a budget of $30 Million.

Yay! I think the Jungle Cruise could use some updating. But I love Space Mountain! How would they change it?

Oh good. Jungle Boat needs to be brought into the new millenium. The animatronics are too cheesy for this day and age.

And din't SM in DL recently get a refurb? I assume they want to bring it up to the same level.

I hope if JC is updated, it doesn't lose the spirit of the original.

SM could use a makeover like it's DLR version. This is very good news.

I only hope they don't change the setup of the ride vehicles at WDW Space Mountain- I love that single row!

But everything else about DLR's refurbed Space Mountain: AMAZING. WDW could definitely use that upgrade!

And I hope the improvements to Jungle Cruise are in line with what DL did a few years ago- added a few cool new things, did structural improvements, but didn't change the tone or feel of the attraction.

I heard there's something called the "classics refresher program" which is EXACTLY meant to do what you are referring to Andrew, "refresh" without losing the inteqruity of a classic attraction; ie, what they did with "It's a Small World," etc. I am assuming this would be the case with the Jungle Cruise. I could see a lot of opportunity for structural refreshment (ie, in the "temple", etc), and updating some of the audioanimatronins, etc.

Imagination has been given an undisclosed, but reportedly small budget for it's refurbishment. Attraction closes around 9/20, Image works in January.

JUngle Cruise refurbishment scheduled for 2008 may feature addition of Timon and Pumbaa in some kind of pre-show video.

Space Mountain's 2008 refurbishment will simply bring refreshed track, Lighting, and new vehicles with impressive audio systems and LED screens.

The building of the living seas is going to turn completely blue. Light projectors have been installed near the building.

Spectromagic will close in january for the additions of new characters, Stitch, Lilo, Terk, Nemo, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and a new villians float added onto the Chernabog float.

The soarin film change for next september has been given the green light for filming. The reason for the green light is that DLP is also recieving the same film for their soon to begin constructed version.

The changes to Fantasmic that i mentioned last month may not happen until the spring, but may be announced on 10/1

Big changes to toontown are going to be taking shape very soon. Expect to see characters from playhouse disney shows and maybe even a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show by April. Work should begin by November.
Thats it... for now. I expect to hear much more before 10/1! that is my words Oh! One more thing i heard that indy stunt show will be changed to The Incredibles show in the studios.

I loved the SM at DL. Wonder what they will change about the Jungle Cruise? I hope they don't change it too much. It's a classic.

i can't believe all the changes they are making. most are good, but i would hate to see indy go. that is a great show.....

Any idea on how long the refurb. will take. I know. I'm asking a lot.

SM is my alltime favourite ride at DL and I was really looking forward to trying it at WDW. But my trip is Sept/Oct 2007. Didn't the DL reburb. take a really long time.

This is very exciting for our family. Playhouse Disney is my kids daily Disney fix. JoJo and Goliath are really popular but dd(nearly 2) adores Mickey Mouse Club House. And it looks like it will be right in time for our trip.
