Re: MGM or Animal Kingdom

personally, i think the animal kingdom. it's a much larger park, and if i have to compare the two, i think it would be your better bet because of more variety. Animals to see on safari, petting zoo, rides of all types, etc etc. MGM i think is geared a bit more towards teens and adults and is a pretty small park.

Re: MGM or Animal Kingdom

ahh! Toughy! I think you would be the best judge of this! Is he afraid of big rides? If so AK is probably a better choice! They offer lots of shows and family rides. MGM does as well, but the big-name rides are Tot and RnR. Gee.... I am giving this opinion, but the more I think about it they both have ALOT to offer! I know what ever you choose you will have a wonderful day!

Animal Kingdom. The majority of MGM is "scheduled." Both my DS's prefer to just jump on rides, rather than wait for a show.

Re: MGM or Animal Kingdom

Depends. Is he more into animals or movies? If he is an animal buff, then AK it is. If that thing won't interest him, go for MGM. Both are great parks, but I like MGM better casuse of RnR and TOT....oh and the shops. AK has EE and really good shops too...I go to both..lol

Re: MGM or Animal Kingdom

Any chance of hopper tickets? You could do AK in the morning and run to MGM in the afternoon.

But if you absolutely have to choose I would say AK. I'm sure DS would be excited about EE if he's not afraid of big rides.

Definitely AK. If you go to MGM, the rides might be too 'giant' for him.

Re: MGM or Animal Kingdom

Thanks everyone..we will probably have to go to Animal Kingdom..My son has been blessed with his grandfathers genetics and probably wont be tall enough for the big rides untill he is 30..lol..he is a foot shorter than his classmates and very shy, in public anyway..

thinking of that / Does anyone know if there is a height requirement on the soaring ride at Epcot? He wants to go on that ride..

Although hopper tickets work well with the commandos of the group, who can do two parks in one day, they are also beneficial if you show up at one park, and it's packed, you can go on the one ride you really want in that park, and then move to the next for the remainder of the day. It certainly gives you more freedom.
