Our next trip is going to center around the Halloween party at WDW. We want to book now, but the dates of the party are not going to be posted until May. We have the dates from 2001, does anyone have the dates from 2002? I'm thinking that I might be able to guess when to book our trip based on comparing the last two years.

Also, what's the latest on the opening of Mission: Space (is that what it's called?)

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party dates for 2002

It looks like these dates were announced in late April 2002, so you will know for sure by then. If you get the dates wrong, you will have plenty of time to change your reservations.


No opening date has been given for Mission:Space, though people have ridden it, so it should be getting close.

That's good to know that the dates may come out in April I'd like to plan just an over night stay so we can go to this this year!

Here's another question...when did the dates come out for the Mickeys Very Mery Christmas come out last year? (and when should they come out this year!) That's the one I"m really interrested in!!! :D

They were announced the same day as the Halloween pary for 2002, April 28.

My Dh and I did Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party last Dec. It is the best!!! I was like a little kid , when I saw that Xmas Parade coming down Main St., and the snow just made it perfect. Usually, when we go to DW at Thanksgiving, we are always gone when the Xmas Party begins. But this year we made sure we were there. I would do it again. Infact, my DH and I had dinner first at the Liberty Tree, when we were finished the parade was just starting, and I can't tell you how much fun we had. My DH, and I were like that commercial, you know the one that the kids back home think that we are bored. Yeah , right!!!
After we saw the first parade for the evening, we went to have our picture take, then had cookies and hot chocolate. What a wonderful evening we had!!! Parents can have fun without the kids every now and then, and DW is the place to do just that!!!
But on May 10th , we are going back , and all three of our daughters are coming with us!!!! Of course, they are all grown now, but still love coming with us, and we enjoy having them be there with us!!!!!! :) JOANN

Yes, I went to the Christmas party 2 years ago!!!! I loved it!! Last year, we were actually staying on property during on of the nights, but we were w/family and they didn't want to go, so we missed it!! This year, it is a must. :D I've never been to the Halloween party before. If I had to pick , though, I'd make sure to go during the Christmas party!! As soon as those dates are out, I'm making my reservations!!!:D

Well, my family is all about Halloween and we loved, loved, loved the Halloween party 2 years ago. We all agree that it was the best time we have ever had. We all dressed up as Snow White characters and if I knew how to post a picture, I would show you all. The kids were constantly stopped by CM's and spoken to in character. They loved it. We went to the area with the DJ between Adventure and Frontier lands, and when the DJ saw us he called us out to the dance area and played "Who woke Snow White Up". Then Minnie and Chip and Dale came out and danced with us.

Several kids asked for my autograph, believing that I was the real wicked queen. Loved that :D .

The parade was awesome and the Snow White characters came over to us and shook hands with the kids.

The fireworks were so unbelieveably great. I have to say that being in WDW for a few days, you get kind of immune to fireworks. I mean you see them every night! But these were all around the park at the same time and just took our breath away. We were actually riding the Magic Carpets at the time and as we went around, the fireworks were all around us! It was spectacular. The fireworks at the Christmas party are like that too now, they weren't when we were at that party in 2000 so we were astounded. :love:

Anyway, if you are considering going, do it. And dress up, it really makes a big difference.

Hi Jessibelle, What an awsome picture. That was really getting into the Halloween spirit!! Our next visit is in May, and my DH is already planning to go back for Halloween, or the first week of Nov. Just might have to convince him to go back the end of Oct., and we can always stay through the first week of Nov. Good idea, don't you think?????:hmmm JOANN

Jessibelle What a great story and wonderful picture. Sounds like you guys had a really magical experience!! Kinda makes me want to go this year!! DS isn't really into halloween. He will dress up (almost every year as a Power Ranger.. ) and would rather hand out candy then go out and get candy! Go figure. Maybe this year we'll try it though! We're going the first week in October w/family, I wonder if they will have it then? We'll have to wait until they post the dates to find out! Thanks for sharing your story!:D
