Park Hours for May 2003
We are leaving for WDW April 30, 2003. Park Hours for May 2003 have yet to be determined by WDW. I'm dying to do more planning, but I need these hours! Is it normal for Disney to be this slow on determining hours? Or are world events keeping Disney officials nervous about attendance thus delaying decisions? I'm concerned the parks are going to close early and with very limited parades and fireworks. Any thoughts?

I've heard recently that Disney has had to cut back the park hours and take away some fireworks and parades(for March and April). I know that have received MANY complaints regarding this, since they published the park hrs and then changed them. Maybe they are being more carefull because of the world events and also the many complaints they are receiving.

But why are typical amusement parks able to set their hours for the months they are open in a year and Disney can't even post furthur than a month in advance. It is very irritating trying to plan PS and which parks to hit on which days whn you are left in the dark so close to vacation time. I can understand Disney posting fewer months in advance but this is crazy.
I think they need a stand by hour plan to fall back on and then extend it if attendance picks up.

WDWFan I agree! You'd think that at least by this late in March, they'd at least have Mays dates out. I'm waiting for June's dates to be posted! I'm not really planning a lot of PS(mine are in the afternoon) so it's not that big a deal to me, but I"d still like to know!!

We are leaving April 30th also! I always like to go to the Magic Kingdom first. I don't feel like I am at DisneyWorld until I see that castle. I checked the park hours for our first day (the 30th) and they have the afternoon parade but no night parade and no fireworks! Dang that bums me out!:( I hope this is not an omen for the whole trip. I agree that it is VERY difficult to make plans for the trip when the park hours arent even posted yet!

OK, I got tired of obsessively checking the site for May hours. So, I called 407-WDISNEY. The CM told me to "be patient and wait another week or TWO."
Maybe she is wrong. Please, Disney Gods, let her be wrong! I REALLY want to plan. I mean, isn't that almost the best part... |

Week or Two *jaw drops*
I believe part of your vacation money is in the info provided to guests. I believe there should be some compensation for keeping everyone in the dark til a week or two before their vacation starts. What is the deal? Something is up, this is not typical, even for War Stressed times.

Park hours
We are in the same boat, we are going in May and trying to plan our days. The tough part of looking at the April Park hours is that tha last part of April includes holiday park hours. So we do not know what to plan either!:dazed

They have to know the hours for the Magic Kingdom by now. The PS's for MK have been made already so I have no idea why they haven't posted them for May.
I made reservations for the Castle for 7PM for the 9th of May, so why haven't they posted, maybe for security reasons. WDW and Disneyland are the only amusement parks that you can't fly over at the present time.
