Which part of your trip to you reserve the biggest budget for?

I'm curious: what part of your Disney trip do you reserve the biggest budget for? (i.e. do you try to save on food so you can spend more on your resort, etc?)

This can apply to WDW or DL...

Strangely enough I voted food. Only because we don't have to save cash for the hotel/resort anymore b/c we use points from DVC. So the dining plan & food takes up the next biggest chunk o' change.

Re: Which part of your trip to you reserve the biggest budget for?

I voted for FOOD, too. Only because I don't spend much on accomodations, since I have timeshare! Even when I am going in 28 days (yay!), I am staying at DVC on points for my first half of the trip which is only costing me approx $105 a night and I got a great rate at my timeshare for the rest of my trip that is only costing me about $80 a night, INCLUDING some extras (2 Disney Park Tickets, 2 Disney Quest or Water Park Tickets, 2 Planet Hollywood dinners and 2 AMC Movie Tickets at DTD) CHEAP, right???

I voted FOOD because we LOVE to eat good while at WDW! We don't cheap out on a nice sit down dinner every night. It's something we look forward to, and is all part of the Disney experience for us.

Excellent point...we will be on the DP when we go in Dec, too...well, we'll be on the plan for 5 days of our trip! $87 per day for 4 nights...not bad!

Food for us, too.

In February, our room at WL will be 500 for four nights, and 623 for the dining plan for four nights.

Re: Which part of your trip to you reserve the biggest budget for?

For my 2 cents, I've always been willing to scrimp on food and souvenirs if it meant reaching toward staying at a "cooler" resort.

However, I don't think I'm that way anymore. I totally loved All-Star Movies and would never have any qualms about staying at a Value again!

I am completely excited to start eating at REAL Disney restaurants though...CS gets soooooo old, and I'm ashamed to admit I've only eaten at 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare and Kona Cafe. There is a whole world of food out there I need to try, so I'm psyched to use DDP, even if I have to downgrade my resort to afford it!

Re: Which part of your trip to you reserve the biggest budget for?

Room definately. The park passes run a close second or are first depending on which resort I am staying at. Food is the least amount I spend and shopping is third. It beats out airfare and ground transportation.

Food.

I'm only at the hotel long enough to sleep and shower, so I don't care about that. (Which is slightly odd, since I'm a Hospitality Management major.) And I'm not a souvenir person, so...

I like to stay at really nice accomodations so I voted for resorts.

Re: Which part of your trip to you reserve the biggest budget for?

I voted for souvenirs. Really it is not so much souvenirs as it is that I want to have enough money to do or buy whatever I want. I usually have the hotel paid for at least 6 months before the trip. While food costs alot, I think I still spend more money on souvenirs and misc. stuff. DD and I love to go shopping and we all seem to leave with several new outfits from Disney. I guess I am in the minority here.

Food - I too have a DVC so food would be next. Although we do spend a lot on souvenirs I still think the food is more.

Re: Which part of your trip to you reserve the biggest budget for?

The resort was our biggest bill. Food came in after airfare (almost as much as the room) and tickets. Only our souvenirs were less than the food.
