Firework Times and Park Hours

good afternoon all,

I am confused with the list of the park hours for MK/Epcot and MGM for the times they close and the times they say the Fantasy in the sky/Spectromagic/Illuminations and Fantasmic fireworks go off at.
On my list of park hours for MK is 9-7pm but the Fantasy fireworks go off at 8:30. Epcot 9-6 but Illuminations starts at 9:00.
Is it that they close the gates at that time so nobody gets back in but the rides are still open later? i'm sure it must be that way but i need to know how it works from the Experts!!!

Sounds like a mistake to me! I've never seen Epcot close at 6:00... World Showcase closes at 9:00 even during the slow times. And, I would think MK would be 8:30... same time as FITS. Check it again later. Perhaps there was an error when updating.

Could it be possible that when you were looking at the closing times for Epcot that you looked at the closing for Future World? I notice that does close earlier than World Showcase. Just a thought. :D

The front part of EPCOT closes at 6 PM, such as Inventions and those rides. But if you are standing in line they don't close until everyone have riden. This allows them to be completely closed before the fireworks at EPCOT and forces the public toward the World Showcase. The rides in Future World are usually closed by 8PM every night.

Yes, Future World closes at 6 PM, while the World Showcase will be open until 9 PM. It is possible that they dates you looked at for the MK, there is a special event going on that night, so while the park is closed, there will be people in the park. What day were you looking at?
