trip planning question

I know its gonna be packed on July fourth but ....

Do you think they will close MK due to too many people?

if they close the MK due to high crowds

Do you think we could get back in for the fireworks at night if we decide to go to a resort to eat dinner?

We are still trying to figure out where and what days to do the parks right now we have this kinda of schedule

Friday July fourth MK trying to figure what to do for dinner this night if we want to stay in the park the whole day or if we want to leave for awhile and come back for fireworks at night or to say all day in park

Saturday July 5th MGM and whispering canyon cafe for dinner and maybe go back to see fantasmic ( since we never did fantasmic before) and Richard wants to eat at whispering canyon for his birthday

Sunday epcot and eat a late lunch at nine dragons

so far thats what we decided

please help

I have read somewhere that MK will close the gates if they reach capacity but if you get there early you won't have a problem I wouldn't think. Due to it being July and it will be HOT! I would recommend going early then leaving and coming back for the fireworks. Oh, and be sure to get an all-u-can drink shake at Whispering Canyon it is GREAT!! Oh and the Bannana Dust Bowl is really great too!! :D Okay now I want something sweet!

thanks willbegone for your fast reply
I love the shakes there ( we went for lunch last November and got all you can eat skillet yum) making myself hungry just thinking about it

I am really worried though if we leave the park to eat at lets say ohanas or chef mickeys that we wont get back in to see the fireworks

I have heard that if you are a Disney resort guest you are ALWAYS guarenteed admission to the parks, even when the gates are closed to general public. Is that correct??

The last time we went in the summer was a LONG time ago but from what I remember alot of people leave in late afternoon because they are just wore out from the heat.

ArielBelle-I would also like to know the answer to that question! It would seem that resorts guests would be guaranteed but I wonder how that would work?

thanks guys thats sounds great if it does happen that way because then we can do chef mickeys instead of Crystal Palace or ohanas expect we have done that the last two times we went and since we are going for a three days we wanted to do something different like a character meal ( plus great picture oppurtunity so we dont have to wait on lines in the park for it ) since I am a child at heart and love getting my picture taken with the characters

I am going for the 4th of July too! It's my DH 40th b-day that day. I also have read (can't remember if it's Birnbaums or not) that resort guests are ALWAYS guaranteed entry to parks - I hope this is true!! I was actually planning on avoiding MK on the 4th since I was told that it will be PACKED! I am planning on MGM for that morning, hotel swimming in afternoon, Ohana for dinner and poly beach for fireworks. I'm hoping the poly beach thing will work out since we will have 3 yr old DD and the thought of trying to leave MK with the rest of the park after 4th of July fireworks does not sound like fun!

Willbegone,Ii just looked it up in Birnbaum's, page 50. under On-property perks. "Disney resorts offer guaranteed admission (with ticket) to the theme parks-even when they are filled to capacity and closed to the general public".

I KNEW I read that somewhere.;)

woohoo thanks guys that makes me feel a whole lot better now hm I wonder ok here is another question can anyone sit on the beach at poly to see the fireworks or do you have to be a guest at the poly ?

last time we went to Ohanas we got a window table and we saw the fireworks from there but had kids standing over us while we were eating and trying to watch the fireworks ourselves they pushed their way inbetween my mom and our friend to watch them because they were at the window and they were so rude so I dont know if we want to do that again

No, it is open to anyone. Just hop off the monorail, walk through the lobby, go downstairs, walk out past the pool and onto the beach. Try to arrive a couple minutes early, all the good spots are taken by the time the fireworks start.

Hi Cheryl,
Have been down to DW many times for the 4th of July, and ohhhh yes, it can get quite crowded!!
We always, went to Epcot for the fireworks, which were great , of course. But we went early to get a good spot, but it is worth it.!!!!!
I have seen singns, that the park had reached its capacity, but being a guest on property, you would't have any trouble getting in.
Just bring your poncho's , because I do remember, we did get rained on , while waiting. So, this way you'll stay dry, and not loose your space.
If you haven't seen Fantasmic, I think it's really nice. My DH and I always do the dinner package first, this way the wait getting in is alot easier to do. Of course, when coming out , you are with crowds, but not to bad. (sometimes????)
:dazed Whatever, you do, just have a wonderful time!!!!:) JOANN

For the past 3 years, my DS and a Friend and I go to Blizzard Beach on the 4th of July!!! (My Firends husband is not a water park or big WDW fan..he will go to the parks sometimes with her..he's just happy she can tag along w/me and my DS sometimes..hehehe) Anyways, last year (my son was out of town visiting Grandpa for a week) my friend and I decided to go. We went to BB in the morning, and then w/a storm heading our way, took off to resort hop the rest of the day. We had a snack in the Tea and Garden room at the GF, (and got to spy on a wedding party ) We ended up back at GF for the fireworks, and it was SOOOOO amazing, they were going off all around us! It was so much fun!!(Bring a towel to sit on the grass) Since it is a Friday this year, we were thinking of staying over for the night (and her husband *will* come with us)!! I guess I'd better start making plans soon, huh??? hehe.

The fireworks on the 4th are the BEST!!!! Do not miss them!!! Have a great time!!!

The only time Disney "closes" a park is when the parking lot is filled. There isn't an attendance capacity per se for the actual number of people in a particular park.

If you're a resort guest, just use Disney transportation to come and go as you please. Even if you're not a resort guest, you can still park in any of the theme-park lots and use Disney buses to go wherever you want. Either way, you won't have a problem re-entering any of the parks. The Disney transportation system is available to any theme-park guest, not just resort guests.
