Why would I go to Toronto...
...when DW just said we could go back to Disney!?!?
We've been trying to decide on 2007 vacation destinations, looking at non-disney places, for a change of scenery. DW said Toronto & Niagara Falls, but after pricing out hotels, tickets & food, it would actually be more than 6 nights @ POP!! We have left over tickets with 4 days on them, so that saves us $. So, when would be best to go---Memorial Day week or mid-June? I hear they're both crowded, & we're used to going in Mid-Sept., but no more pulling the kids!! Thanks!!

Re: Why would I go to Toronto...
Just to clarify, are you talking about the week leading up to Memorial Day, or the week immediately AFTER Memorial Day? The week after will be busier than the week before...

Re: Why would I go to Toronto...
bribert... Memorial Day weekend itself will be busy, BUT....
The rewards outweigh the crowd! For instance, the weather is perfect, the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival is jsut not to be believed, it stays light really late, so you get extra play time... oh, and did I mention that the weather is perfect??? May is our favorite time of year to be at WDW, and by Tuesday, the crowds will disappear!!!

Re: Why would I go to Toronto...
Just to put in my two cents, while I would choose WDW too, I have been to Toronto, and it's a great city full of energy and excitement. If you're a hockey fan, it's heaven, as it's home to the Hockey Hall of Fame. There is plenty to do and some of the greatest restaurants in North America especially within it's Italian and Asian neighborhoods.
But WDW rocks too. ![]()

Re: Why would I go to Toronto...
As a Toronto resident, I am always a proponent for Toronto tourism - there is so much to do and see in and around Toronto and Southern Ontario that would both entertain and surprise you, and the weather here in May is just amazing.
That being said - it's a city, and a great one, but if I had to choose between going to a city similar to the one I already live in, or Disney, I'd choose Disney everytime! |

May in Disney World definately!!! It's a beautiful time of year, the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival is the best time to be at that park and.... who am I kidding? I would choose DW anytime over anyplace else!!

Re: Why would I go to Toronto...
I live in Southern Ontario and have been to WDW and T.O. and Niagara Falls. Yes there are things to do in T.O. and Niagara Falls but they cost money on top of the hotel and food that you're going to pay. There are some interesting things to see and do.. and if you come up this way and you're around Niagara Falls then you should go to Niagara on the Lake. It's amazing. Niagara Falls is just one big tourist trap, but that falls are cool to see if you've never seen them.
Personally I would go to WDW, just easier to get around, cleaner and in the long run cheaper. |

Re: Why would I go to Toronto...
The way I see it, there's 2 types of family vacations out there-1 for the "seers" & 1 for the "doers". Do you go on vacation to see sights or do things? We're doers! 5 minutes at Niagara Falls & we'll be looking for the next thing to do!
Also, looks like May is the choice. So, maybe fly down the day before Memorial day, come back the Saturday after? Keep the input coming!!
