Tips please for 1-day trip.
OK, as most of you know, Daniel and I are going to Tampa for Thanksgiving weekend. We decided to drive into Orlando Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, and spend the day in WDW. We want to start off in the Magic Kingdom at opening, then go to EPCOT where we are having a big family dinner at the Biergarten. IF POSSIBLE, we REALLY REALLY want to see the Osborne lights too, possibly before or after dinner. It's not the time schedule I am concerned with, as we've been able to do 2-3 parks in one day even during the busy season, we're fast with no kids. Don't ask.
![]() Anyway, here is my concern, PARKING!!! It's been SOO long since I did a 1-dayer with a car so I need to know what is the most sensible way to park. We have annual passes & a dvc membership card if that effects parking possibilities. So, what do you suggest? Where do we park if we are starting the day at MK, & possibly ending at EPCOT or MGM?

Re: Tips please for 1-day trip.
I would park at Epcot. You can take the monorail over to MK easily in the morning, and if you end at MGM rather than Epcot you can take the ferry over to Epcot to get your car.

Re: Tips please for 1-day trip.
PS: our dinner reservation at the Biergarten is at 4:15 pm so we will have plenty of time to see the Osborne Lights after dinner (MGM closes at 8pm).
SO, what should I do about parking if I am starting out at the MK and ending at MGM? Thank you.

Do I get free parking at EPCOT with my annual pass?

According to allearsnet.com you should get free parking at all parks!

If you can find a spot that's walking distance to the park, or a short tram-ride, then you can use the MR to go between MK and Epcot. I know that driving might be a little faster, but in the middle of the day, you'll be parking who knows where and you'll need to wait for a tram.... Then, at the end of the day, assuming you are at MGM, you can take a bus to Epcot (which will be relatively quick and there won't be a lot of people in line for it.). Otherwise, you can take the boat (or walk) back to Epcot for IllumiNations. Personally, I think parking at Epcot and leaving it there provides the most flexibility.

Yes, with an annual pass, parking is included.
Don't really have any tips for you, but have a great time! ![]()

I'll add to the Epcot vote.

I always subscribe to the parking where you'll end up at the end of the day school of thought. That's what I am going to be doing, parking at MGM on Friday, because I'm going to end the day at Fantasmic.

Re: Tips please for 1-day trip.
Park at EPCOT. Ride the Tram to the Monorail. At the TTC switch to the ferry. After MK take the Bus back to EPOCT. From EPCOT take the ferry to and from MGM. Ride the Tram back to your car (bonus points if you can get a CM to take you by van from MGM to EPCOT).
It is very easy to fit every form of Disney transportation into a one day trip ![]() (Wishy sounds like a wonderful day. Have a good time! )

Re: Tips please for 1-day trip.
I say park at Epcot...MK is going to be crowded (all the parks are but I imagine MK will be even more crowded than anywhere else) and then hop the monorail to MK. Even if you park at Mk you'll still have to take the monorail to the parks yadda yadda yadda..basically..i hate parking at MK.
Spend the AM at MK then head to Epcot hang out do your ADR and then head to MGM after dinner. I would wait until it's dark to do Osbourne Lights because even though it's neat all the time..as you know it's even neater after dark! Then I'd hop the bus back to Epcot and then you're done! It's totally possible, and I know you and Dan are a lot like Dave and I in the parks..no kids..get it done or die.

Re: Tips please for 1-day trip.
Park where you plan on ending up. TTC is good option too because EVERTHING goes there.
I'm guessing parking will really suck with crowds. But at least you don't have to pay with the AP.
