In August DH and I attempted to get a cab from MGM Studios and when we arrived at the "cab stand" area at the beginning of the parking lot we were greeted by a CM who told us "sorry, you can't get a cab from here any longer." When we asked, "well where do we catch a cab?" He then instructed us to walk back to the transportation information booth and ask them because "he had no idea." When we politely asked, "well what has happened to these marked yellow spots that have "cabs only" painted on them he said, "sorry this is no longer a cab stand."

OK, anyway, that was back in August. Can anyone confirm for me if it is still possible to catch a cab from MGM and if so where the heck do you get one? Is the cab stand still functional and this was just some weird occurance?

When we were there in Sept. we were walking to our car and saw several cabs in the lot. I remember because I was so tired I was tempted to take one to our car!
I don't know why they would have told you that.

Yep the cabs are still there. The Stage parking lot. On the other side where the buses (not the Disney buses) pick up and drop off guests.

thanks rowdy, and YUP, that's EXACTLY where we walked to and tried to get to the cab stand when that CM told us it was no longer a cab stand. So strange. Anyway, glad to hear it's still there! We might have to utilize it this Friday.

I just got a cab from there in october. You have to walk past the bus area in to the parking lot...they are all parked there. I had no issue and no CM telling me not to.
