Our Magical November Trip!
This is my first ever trip report - I will try and keep it short - but so many wonderful things happened on this trip! The cast is me, my DH, and DD (6). We flew out of Boston on 11/11 on Jet Blue for a fabulous 8 night stay at CB.
Day 1: The flight arrives in Orlando and we are at CB by 10:30AM. There was a slight misunderstanding in terms of the location of our room, but as always, the front desk manager was able to work her magic and we found ourselves in a lovely lake front room in Martinique. As is our usual custom, we spent our first day at the pool and our first evening at Shutters where we had a lovely dinner. Day 2: This was our first day in the MK and it was fantastic (9AM to 9PM). We started out with the new stage show at the castle (I liked Cinderellabration better but then again my view is somewhat premised on a DD who is just infatuated with all things princesses). On that day, DD tried BTMRR for the first time and just loved it. We spent the whole day fast passing and went on every age appropriate ride there was - and that is when the real thrill for DD occured. Just as she was about to ride the carousel, there was Mary Poppins - on it as well. To put it mildly, it was a thrill for her to ride alongside Mary Poppins - after the ride, we headed to 1900 Park Fare (another tradition) and enjoyed all the buffet and the characters had to offer. As it was an extra magic hours evening, we then headed back to the MK for some more rides and actually went onto Dumbo as the Wishes began - that is a memory we will all hold for our lifetime! Day 3: This was our day to do the front of Epcot. (10AM to 8PM) Anyone with small children, the new Nemo ride is just a thrill - and Crush is just hysterical. We then got fast passes for Soarin and enjoyed the Nestle Junior Chef program. After a quick bite at the Land, we headed off to Soarin (always a treat - love the hidden mickey on the golf ball) and then spent the rest of the day at Innovations where DD spent more than an hour with the robot exhibits and doing various experiments. We took advantage of the Disney Visa offer for the free photo and were we surprised at the length of time we had with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. Fun was had by all! We then ate at the Coral Reef - we waited an extra few minutes for a table literally tank side and it was worth the wait. The food was very good, the wait staff pleasant but the real treat was the scuba divers who literally come up to the glass! Day 4: This was our day for the Bibbidi Bobbedi Boutique. A word of caution - and this may have just been our fairy godmother in training - if your little one picks the Cinderella hair cut, beware of how tight they actually put the hair up. Our DD, who never ever complains, was in tears about 10 minutes after we left because her hair was too tight so we went back and they were more than accomodating to fix it. Getting over that little bump, off we went to the MK where our DD became part of the Belle show at the castle and again enjoyed all that there was to offer. The highlight was dinner at Cinderella's castle. We usually do the breakfasts but this year thought we would do the dinner and it was fabulous. Fairy godmother and the mice make a nice appearance and the food is very good. After a nice meal, we took in both Spectro and Wishes and exited the park exhausted but very happy. Day 5: This was our day at MGM. We started off with the Playhouse Disney breakfast which was just great. The character interaction is amazing and the food is very good! We then went to meet the characters from Cars where DD was given some trading cards by the folks running the meet and greet. We then went through the Disney Animation Academy (sorry if I got the name wrong) and that was just lovely. She truly enjoyed learning how to draw Donald Duck and was lucky enough to receive a signed drawing from the animator on staff that day who was thrilled to have such a young student in the room! We had lunch at Toy Story (very good), watched the holiday parade (our fave after Spectro) and then caught Beauty and the Beast. We were supposed to eat at 50's PT but switched to Hollywood and Vine bc of the Fantasmic Package. Needless to say, Fantasmic did not disappoint - nor did our meeting with Cruella Deville during the course of which the first of two of my DD's teeth came out! Day 6: We started the day at Epcot at the Princess Breakfast - where my DH lost our cell phone - but that is a story for another day! The breakfast did not disappoint and we went on to do the kidcot fun stops throughout the countries for the remainder of the day. We were supposed to eat at Le Cellier but decided instead that we would go to MGM to see Fantasmic again - one boat and a long run and we made it with 5 minutes to spare. It was stellar once again. Day 7: This is the best day of the bunch as we did the Family Magic Tour at the Magic Kingdom. I dont want to give it away but for anyone with young children, the tour provides them with memories that last a lifetime. We then enjoyed the parades, the shows and a Crystal Palace dinner - and then retreated to bed bc we had a long day ahead of us at Animal Kingdom. Day 8: Animal Kingdom - where my daughter lost a secind tooth. In addition to her getting to participate in the Lion King Show, we did all of Dino Land and saw the new Nemo Show. The latter is a real treat - my DH thought the puppets were a bit distracting but my DD and I just loved it. I think my DH's reaction was a bit tainted as just prior to entering, he learned there were no more passes for Everest (at 12 noon) so he was a bit disappointed. We sat in the middle section about half way up and had great views of the stage and all the special effects. After checking out the safari (and seeing alot of animals) we were lucky enough to see the parade and what a parade it was - all decked out for the holidays. It was here that my DD's second tooth came out. I asked a cast member who passed by if they had any buttons for such an occasion and he said no - but if I could write down where we were staying he would see if he could do something (notwithstanding we were leaving the next morning). We left and went over to the MK for one last visit and were approached by a member of the Dream Team who upon hearing about DD's tooth marched her into the Mercantile Building and had her pick out any pin she wanted - on the Dream Team. When we then returned to our room (to have our traditional last night in the food court and the game room) much to our surprise there was a bag on the door - from the Island Mercantile CMS - it had a certificate that said "grin and bear it" and enclosed a tooth fairy pillow - Now who says Magical Moments do not happen at WDW! It was a wonderful end to a very special trip! |

Re: Our Magical November Trip!
What a wonderful trip you had with your DH and DD
I love how much of it revolved around her and how easy the pace seemed--what a lucky little girl she is. The more I read TRs like yours the more I want to go back. I'm happy you shared this with us and just so you know, a TR can never be too long ![]() Thanks suetom! ![]()

Re: Our Magical November Trip!
Thanks guys! For the record, the tooth fairy does leave extra special things for teeth lost at Disney! For the first tooth, the tooth fairy left a bell in the shape of tinkerbell and for the second tooth, the tooth fairy left two pins - one representing each park where the teeth came out! And yes, every trip revolves around our DD - she is only this age once and nothing makes us happier than the sheer joy in her face at every new discovery or rediscovery!
