MVMCP tips questions

So this being our first MVMCP, I don't want to miss anything. So I have three questions:

1) Where is there a photopass spot during the party, and do you have to buy your picture then in order to get the discount?
2) Which stores have the special merchandise for the nights of the party, and do they really get bombarded during the first few minutes it's released?
3) Is there more than one place to stop for hot chocolate and cookies?

I'm sure I'll think of more, but my mind is blank now! Thanks bunches!

I know the answers to 2 of these bc I went to MNSSHP

1. No, we were given the PP card and then when we got home we could purchase the pic..we didnt bc it was horrible...but we could have. The only bad part is you have to use a seperate card than your usual PP pictures..And the whole event was given a seperate PP card..so there were a lot of different spots to take your picture. This could be very diffrent for MVMCP..i am not sure..

2. The big store on the very end on the left hand side when you walk on to Main Street..the Emporium I think..it's the biggest in the park and they always have the most stuff..i found going before the parade or during the first parade is the least crowded time.

As for hot chocolate I don't know that bc we just got free candy!

We have been many times and here's what I know.

If you're asking about the free picture that you get with your party ticket, they do those at several locations. You just get in line, fill our some paperwork and they take your picture. There's a little backdrop behind you. Your brochure you get at the gate will tell you of the designated spots.

Also, the cookies and hot chocolate are dispersed from several locations throughout the park.

On the special merchandise, the Emporium can set you up. The t-shirts will be out during the party, but some things you have to ask about (like pins) they don't just have them sitting out. The t-shirts are usually out in several stores. One year we had to walk around until we found the right size we needed. I think the jewelry store also has select party pins. All of this has to be bought during the party hours.

Oh, and, one more thing, you're going to have a blast!

Well, I just read that the picture is no longer free, but discounted. Now, that's a bummer.

They are no longer offering the christmas card type photo they used to give free to every ticket holder. They are offering a discount on a special Photopass purchase instead.

I also have a super important question: How early can we arrive to the event if we won't already be in MK for the day? No offense to anyone but I need someone to answer who has done just that and KNOWS for certain.

4pm is when they allow you to come in with just your MVMCP ticket. We're also not arriving at Disney until that afternoon and will be saving a park day by going into MK late.

A ? for those that have been to MVMCP.

Do you notice that MK crowds grow smaller for this event? Or does it actually get busier?

The crowds are DEFINITELY smaller! But each night is different. Some nights sell out, too. When I went in 2003, it was like we had the whole park to ourselves! We went twice in 2004...one night it felt REALLY crowded (but NOTHING compared to normal park attendance!) and one night is was substantially less...

So, during our stay, MVMCP is on the 21st and 22nd of Dec. MK has EMH on the 21st. Which day of the two would be the best to visit MK and do MVMCP?

Is it like EMH where you get a wristband so that CM's know who is supposed to be there and who isn't?

Yes..but even more secure..while you are just WALKING through the parks random CM's ask to see wristbands..if you dont have them they escort you out of the park...i know I certainly appreciated it because there was a lot to do besides the rides and they didnt want "just anyone" taking part.

I wondered how they "policed" it. I know we've seen quite a few people hanging around at EMH's without bands.
