How to make time fly?

Ok... here's the thing. I am leaving for Disney at the end of January and I CAN NOT wait to go! So much so that I wake up and tell my husband what I'm going to wear on the flight down and what I think we should pack. I have already started putting a box of snacks to one side to pack... I have even started trying new things incase I want them to be on our list of snacks to take down. (Those new TollHouse cookie bars are GREAT!)

I have even asked if I could just stay asleep till we go as that makes time move fast.

On the bright side Christmas is coming and that time always goes fast. But I need to keep busy (other then being on MB) So for us to make time fly we are planning a Mardi Gras New Year's Eve party. We picked this because we are staying at the POFQ so we thought we would start and end the month with the same theme... kind of...

What do you do to make the time fly till you go on your next WD trip?

It is so hard to wait, isn't it??

I have to make a countdown of some sort to my trip, whether it be a paper chain or a hand-drawn calendar or something...I try to make it really creative so it takes a lot of time and energy to put together. The longer it takes, the more time I've killed before my trip!

I like to go back through my guidebooks, no matter how many times I already have, and make new lists..."things I've never done before that I want to make sure and do this time", "old favorites I have to do at least ten times", "new places I want to try", etc.

Oh gosh...I can't think of many suggestions. I drive everyone around me CRAZY whenever I have a trip coming!

I hope time really flies by for you!

Thanks, It's going fairly well... but I haven't put anything in a suitcase yet so not fast enough. We've been reading old guide books here also. We have a number of them. Tonight my husband was reading a Disneyland one, althoughw we've never been there.

And we keep doing the mail check... DVD still not here.

Oh, and when I'm antsy sometimes I just overdo the Disney thing for a while! (What am I saying, sometimes?

)

I like to have a Disney-themed breakfast with Mickey-head pancakes, etc. and watch a Disney movie or something. It's a nice way to spend a Saturday morning.

I'm with you!! I'm going in January as well ~ only 44 days till we leave ~ and the closer it gets, the harder it is!

Every nite, Stu and I go on YouTube to look at ride videos and then we go to the Disney site to look at attactions, then over to allears.net to check out pictures of the restaurants we're planning on going to.

I've reworked our itineray a 100 times and called disney with just every question I can think of all the time just to hear "have a magical day" before hanging up.

I've started making a trip journal for the trip, and I want to make homemade autographs for the kids, so that will take up some time as well.

I visit Disneyshopping.com all the time looking for great deals on disney stuff i might get the kids for christmas...

I log onto MB a dozen times a day, just to see what everyone is up to...

I'm just as helpless as you are...LOL

COUNTDOWN chain!! you need a countdown chain. Get your construction paper out. you will need scissors and a cool stapler (don't use tape..it doens't work right). Cut the paper into 5 strip. Link the ends together and then link the chains together. Make one for every day left in your trip...pull off every morning. You should make them in weeks by color so you have a mini countdown within the countdown chain. I usually do ten per color, but you could do as many as you like. It's very entertaining to pull that strip off every morning. At the end should be a posterboard with the date of your trip all decorated mickey like.

Time seems to stand still when I am waiting for my Disney trip, and then things usually become so hectic the month before I go--we go at Christmas time--so the last month usually flies by. I still have not made my countdown calendar for this trip. Part of the reason is that both kids have no idea that we are going. Keeping the surprise is killing me, but I know the looks on their faces is going to be worth it. Hang in there, the end of January will be here before you know it. The holidays will help speed up the time. Then, once the holidays are over you can start packing to help speed up the time.

I say make a super packing list. That takes time to do...lots of time if you are me. Make them for each person in the trip complete with check off boxes...now that's fun!

OMG I would never be able to keep it a surprise. LOL Yes the Holidays coming is helping. We have to go out of town a few times so that will help.
