disney studios question

Hey everybody, I was wondering what some advice might be on the following: We are planning on going to disney studios on tuesday which is the ee day for that park. That night we have an illuminations cruise scheduled. We want to see Fantasmic though on another night and wonder what time we should come back to the park to see it (maybe thursday night). We won't be eating dinner there, just coming back for fantasmic and maybe one or two attractions. Fantasmic will be showing at 9pm while we are there. (may 10-18)
thanks in advance:)

I'd plan to be in the ampitheater no later than 8 PM. It fills up pretty quick!

I cannot speak from experience on Fantasmic, but I have been doing a lot of research on it myself.

We are doing the Hollywood and Vine dinner package, but I was told by several Cast Members at Disney that auditorium is HUGE. That there "isn't a bad seat in the house" and that it makes no sense to arrive any more than 15 minutes before the show. We have never eaten at H&V, and always wanted to, so we thought this would be the right way to go for us.

(I'm interested to hear experienced Fantasmic vets reply to this one!)

When you leave Disney Studios, you can take a boat to the Boardwalk and walk in to EPCoT's World Showcase.

The Illuminations Cruise sounds wonderul.....Enjoy!

According the Show schedule when we were there it suggest to arrive 90 minutes prior. I guess it would depend on what time of year you are there. We didn't go because we thought 90 min. was way too long for DD to wait for something that may or may not have scared her. It will be a definet next time.

We've gone doing the Fantasmic dinner package a couple of times and like the Hollywood & Vine. The other times we just went about 30-45 mins early. We usually go during low crowd times so we haven't ever gotten there 90 mins. before but I imagine if it were peak season you would need to.

Angie,
Those dates in May I would think 1 hr. would be fine unless you want the perfect seats which would be center section mid way down. Be prepared to get "sucked in" by the vendors selling popcorn, sodas, light up toys etc... The wait can empty your wallett fast!

With the dinner package you are guaranteed entrance and don't need to arrive until 30 min. before. Low season you can go 15 mins. early and still get a good seat. There are 2 guaranteed seating sections for the dinner package but if you can find a seat elsewhere you are free to sit where you choose. Dinner package sections are the far right and far left...not the best seats but like mentioned above, there are no bad seats. You have to see it to understand but they have done a really good job at the arrangement of the "set" so that you can see it from all angles.

Tip: If you don't want to get misted by the water make sure you sit at least 15-20 rows up from the bottom.

Hi! I think you should go back to MGM to see Fantasmic at around 8pm. Although the show starts at 9, the lines start at 8...or even earlier some nights! I finally got to see the show last year, and I have tried so many times but always got there too late to get in! We got there at around 8 and had to sit and wait, but it was worth it! Definitely an amazing extravaganza!!!! You will not be disappointed!

Remember, at Fantasmic... if you really aren't planning or prepared to get wet, and possibly drenched... do not sit in the front rows of the amphitheatre.

Hi Angie, DH (JOE) and I did Fantasmic last Nov/Dec, and ate at MAMA MELROSE, this way you don't have to get in line with everybody else, but you do have to come out with eveyone else. Not that bad, like someone said you could go over to Boardwalk after the show. My suggestion, walk . You would probably beat the boat there. The walk is just beautiful!!!
By the way, I'm getting the urge to pack, think it's to early!!???:hmmm JOANN:)

We did the H&V dinner package last trip and to be frank about it our seat stank! We were all the way over on the right side of the amphitheater and really didn't have a good view at all. On our prior trip we just walked in and had much better seats more toward the center. We could still see the show but it is much better from the center so you can see alll the activity that is going on! It was a great show though! OH yeah if it's a chilly night don't sit to close to the front. The water sprays and drifts into the audience!:)

Joann, I thought I was the only crazy one. I swear if I wasn't worried about the cat getting into the suitcases, everyone would be packed already!

Thanks everyone for all the great advice I'm glad I know what to do now!

Aint it the truth. We did the Fantasmic dinner show eating at Mama Melrose. When we got to the amphitheatre we were sooo happy to see seats right up front! Oh man...DH, DS, and myself all wear glasses and they were wet all during the perfomance. The three of us could barely see a thing! I wish I had had access to a great message board like this so I would have known not to sit up front!
