Anyone know? Did it sell out?

I believe this was the 1st year they did any parties before Thanksgiving. We plan to arrive the Friday before Thanksgiving next year, and are considering choosing an earlier, less preferable flight in order to attend the party (assuming they have it the Friday before Thanksgiving like they did this year). Never been to one, but from what I’ve read here, it seems like it’s a “don’t miss” event, and would be a perfect way to spend the first evening at WDW.

Background: Flight should arrive early afternoon, but we wouldn’t buy MVMCP tickets until arriving, in case of flight delays (one connection). Planning to get early ADR’s at LTT. The flight will result in a favorable time change, so staying out late shouldn’t be a problem. Daughters ages will be 12 and 9 then. Would just sleep in the next day and return to MK late-morning.

So, was it a big hit on the 17th this year, indicating there would be a good chance of having it this same night in the future? And to the extreme, was it so much of a hit that it wouldn’t be worth fighting the crowds?

Anyone experience it on that Friday this year? Heard or read about that night?

The alternative would be to forget about the party (saving money on tickets), take the later preferred non-connecting flight (saving time, maybe money as well), spend the 1st evening away from the parks (DTD and EOS, maybe?), get to bed at an earlier time, and be at MK rope drop first thing Saturday morning.

Any advice?

If attendence plays a factor in choosing dates for next year, I would say you'll be all set. If you think you can swing it on another week day, you might be better off.

We had a good time though. You should go if you get the chance.

Also please remember that they only sell 30,000 tickets to the parties. So even if it's a sell out party, it's not really over crowded. So don't let the thought of a sell out crowd, or any crowd for that matter, ever deter you from taking part in these extremely fun events.

Also, the later you stay, the lighter the crowds are. There's two parades, if you can stay awake, go to the second parade, the lines on the rides will be lighter during parades as well(usually). We're going up friday, it's the only day it works for DW's schedule.

I TOTALLY agree. The later you are there, the clearer the streets become. There seemed to be hardly ANYONE at the 2nd parade!
