I meant to say thanks to him on the new thread by Mr Maleficent in which he asked if it would be ok to dress up like Capt' Jack on his next trip and in which Soundgod said No and that it reminded him of the case of the Santa lookalike booted from WDW of which I had no idea about!

I think Disney was 100% wrong. He wasn't there at Christmas time so what harm can he be doing and Disney doesn't own Santa. Besides I remember seeing a video a friend took of a Disney Santa and he looks drunk in the video even though he wasn't acting it he just looked it

No, I hate saying these words here, but, you're 100% wrong, not Disney.
It was Christmas.
Disney had their own Santas in the parks.
Here's the big one: He wasn't just acting like Santa, he was telling guest children when asked, that he was Santa while wearing enough Santa elements to create the impression.
This brings up the whole liability issue for Disney if this non-sanctioned costumed Character in a Disney park does something, anything, to one of the guests. Look at what happened when a 17 year old guest tried to take off Tigger's head or the claims of Tigger "pawing" teenaged female guests.
As a general practice, Disney does not allow guests to be in costume at any but very specific and limited times and even then imposes restrictions and limitations.

Actually, all the Disney reps did was tell him he needed to remove the hat if he wanted to stay in the park that day. They knew he wasn't going to shave and the red suspenders WERE holding up his pants, because generally, extra girthy guys don't wear belts. He wasn't going to lose 100 pounds any time soon. He refused to comply by removing the hat, so they showed him the exit.

(Next time please read the first post in a thread, or at least check the date. This was a zombie thread that came back because I refered to it in the thread about the counterfit Disney park in Beijing. I wish it would die.)

We went to Disney with our two daughters & their families in May 2005. We are certain that we saw this same man & his wife twice while we were there. One time, they were sitting across from us watching the parade in the MK. I even mentioned to my DH how much the man across from us looked like Santa. Another time, we were all waiting for one of the buses. They were sitting on a bench where she was either knitting or crocheting. He wasn't dressed as Santa during those times but he sure did look like him. I recall that he wore a white shirt & suspenders. Seems like they were red. Our grandchildren 'knew' he was Santa. I told the grandchildren that even Santa needs a vacation.

My feelings are, if he is going to take a WDW vacation. He needs to NOT dress the Santa part. There is a time & a place for everything.
