Highly disappointed and angry

Is Disney loosing that much money?
I just discovered that fantasy in the sky fireworks and spectromagic are no longer the week we are at Disney(4/27-5/1). I Had this awsome vision of dinner at chef mickeys, monorail ride to the poly and fireworks viewing on the beach. So much for that. I am new to this so what do I do now? Can I see Illuminations from outside Epcot, Downtown Disney maybe? I don't wan't to waste a day of my hopper.

How can they do this to me with only 21 days to go:cry:

That is shocking! I'm so sorry for you. That would burn me up! :devil The only thing I can say is be hopeful that maybe they'll add it. When we were there in Jan they had 2 days of SpectroMagic and only one was on the schedule. So... it can happen!

That's really unfortunate. The elimination of those events during your stay seems to coincide with reduced MK operating hours.

If you're going to have a Park Hopper pass, why not just go into Epcot to watch Illuminations rather than try to see it from outside the park? Or why don't you get a dinner package that includes priority seating for Fantasmic at MGM?

I don't quite understand your concern about the park hopper pass, you can go into one or all the parks as many times as you want for the number of days on your park hopper. Your not limited to one park per day. Or am I misunderstanding what your concern is?:dazed

Sorry to hear about the lack of fireworks and parade. But you never know, they may sneak one in. Escpesially since it seems to be more people going then what they thought.
Keep pixie dust thoughts.

I always wonder if this is due to the difficulty of getting fireworks under the "high" terror alert we're under. Either that, or there's restrictions in place as to when and where you can use them.

I'm upset too. There is no spectro for our entire stay May 10-18 and fantasy in the sky is the sat. we get there and the sat we leave. We aren't going into the parks that first sat and plan to hang out at the Polynesian. Can we see the fireworks well from the poly beach? and how do they run with the water pageant? Is the pageant after the fireworks? right after or long after? or is it another time alltogether?
thanks

You can see the fireworks from the Poly very well. Go out to the point and watch them, then about 15 mins later if it not raining you can watch the water pageant from the same spot.

I plan on purchasing the 4 day hopper for use Mon-Thurs. We are ariving on Sunday(probably mid afternoon) So all I planned on doing that day was downtown disney, dinner and fireworks. That's why I say I don't want to waste a day.

Krafty has a point about security I hadn't thought about that. But Illuminations is still scheduled:hmmm

Can I see Illuminations from Down town Disney? If so, any particular spot. I know we couldn't see the sphere and images, but what about the fireworks?

I JUST returned from Disney last night. Yes we did not see the Spectralmagic, but they did have fireworks every night at MK. Before I left, I checked the schedules and neither of these events were on the list so there is hope for one.

Besides they seem to set the schedules for the 1st -15th, then 15th - end of the month. Check again closer to you arrival time.

No...you can't see Illuminations from Downtown Disney. You may be able to see the high fireworks from the show on the bridge between the Beach Club and the BoardWalk, but that is the only way. It is ment to be seen from World Showcase Promenade and is very hard to see from anywhere else.

Actually, you can go to the BoardWalk and park in the visitors parking lot. Then you can walk to the back entrance of Epcot. You may be able to see and hear some of Illuminations that way.

The last two nights of our 2 week Disney stay we went to Epcot at night just to watch the fireworks display (IllumiNations). What we found disappointing is the fact that the display (IllumiNations) is at 9pm but ALL the Disney attractions (Future World) close at 5-6pm, leaving you with 3+ hours to nothing but the few rides/shows in the countries and go through the 100’s of stores the all have the same stuff. The park is very busy with people that have nothing to do, it really didn’t make any sense to close these busy rides.

The show is worth the wait but just stay out of the stores, it can be dangerous, if you know what I mean.
