Oh Yeah, Baby!!

Last night, after a long while of dating, I asked my girlfriend to marry me and she said yes! Not only was that great for me, but guess where my honeymoon is???? WALT DISNEY WORLD!!! Woo-hoo!!

So....

In preparation (no matter if it is 5 months away) for my September honeymoon in WDW, I was thinking of a number of things that I haven't ever experienced during any of my previous trips to WDW, but may be interested in trying. I'd like everyone's opinions and thoughts on the few things I've listed that I should definitely do (assuming I won't do all of them anyway). Thanks!

Well, I'm thinking of doing this sometime around the 13th or 14th of September. Hopefully we'll be in Disney from Sunday until Saturday and if I can, I want to get the newest discount codes for the Polynesian. I'd really love to stay at a monorail resort and the Poly just leaps out at me. I'll be looking for suggestions for meals, particularly breakfast and dinner also, but that may be another thread a little later.

 Congrats

We spent our honeymoon at WDW, and I suppose I was so in love I can't remember all the things we did. I know we went to all the parks, but it's the little things I remember. Watching fireworks from the Poly beach, dancing in the lobby at the GF, watching the street entertainers on the boardwalk, sleeping late.

I am sure you won't miss a thing.

Good luck and may you live
Happily ever after

Congradulations!!! Thats great news! The Poly is deffinitely THE honeymoon spot, I would take it over the GF anyday. The GF to me is very uptight and to formal, not like the hawaiian tee's, bermuda shorts and Pina Colada at the Poly . For restaraunt recomendations I suggest O'Hana's which is at the Poly. The California Grill seems to ge a great restaraunt, with an even better view! If you want a more formal dinner try Victoria & Alberts at the GF. I could go on and on.....lol. You could actually read reviews from people here at DC on some of disney's restaraunts, On the front page click Review Central, then you could pick Restaraunts from anywhere in "the World." Hope this helped, Congrats again!
Joe:)

Oh yea, and to answer your poll. I Dont really know what you and your Fiance are into, but no matter what your intrests nothing is like a true WDW experience then riding around on the railroad!

Oh how wonderful for you! You definately won't be disappointed with the Polynesian!! We stayed there last Sept. 13-21st if I'm not mistaken. Just to give you an idea of what the discounts might be like for that time frame... we got a concierge garden view room for $234 per night. I highly recommend that for your honeymoon. The lagoon view was $60 more per night... even better if you can swing the extra $$. A standard garden view room I believe was around $189 per night. The resort is very romantic and the convenience can't be beat! If I remember correctly, we found those discounts around July. But, go ahead and book your reservation ROOM ONLY and then call back to have the discounts applied. Or even better, have a Disney only travel agency help you out. I'm sure Mickey would love to help. Click on the mouseketrips link on the front page.

Congratulations!! I also spent my honeymoon at WDW and loved it. I would love to have stayed at the Poly, I have been there and it is so romantic. As teachers it was just too much for us but I hope you can swing it. I wish you a happy life with your wife to be.

P.S. Try 'Ohana, you won't be sorry.

Congratulations. I'm so happy for you both. My DH and I were married at the Poly last year in June and spent our week honeymoon there. You are going to love it. It is the most romantic resort in Disney. If I could just make one small suggestion with reguards to the room. If you can swing the price go for the Lagoon view. My DH and I loved it. We sat on the balcony (still in our wedding attire) drinking a bottle of champange looking out onto the seven seas lagoon and at the fireworks over the castle. We both looked at each other and realized it doesnt get any better than this and what a great way and a great place to be as we started our lives together.  (sorry I gotta a little sappy there) I still get excited and emotional about it.

Disney really is the most magical place on earth. :)

Congratulations on the big step! Good luck! The Poly will be a great place for your honeymoon! I know exactly what you mean by "It leaps out at " you! We're gonna stay there in August and it's always been at the top of my favorite resorts in WDW!

and now for something completely different

Want to try a great Disney experience? Make reservations at the ranch for horseback riding. She'll love it.

Congratulations! We also honeymooned at WDW but stayed off site. We wish we had gotten Disney't honeymoon package it looks so great. We had a blast though because we were together. I highly recommend taking a loop on TTA and just enjoying snuggling together (GREAT MEMORY). Personally if I was going on my honeymoon again and I had the $$ we would go to Victoria & Albert's. It seems so romantic, never been there but I'm hoping DH will take me one day (maybe if we go for our 10 year anniversary in 6 more years! ;) )

CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the club!!

My hubby and I honeymooned at WDW about 18 months ago and it was magical! One suggestion - if you can swing it I strongly recommend the Platinum Plus package (back when we went it was called the "Honeymoon Grand Plan", but I don't think they offer that anymore). It was a bit more than we planned on spending, but DEFINITELY worth it! It added a few romantic extras that, if they weren't already included, we probably would have never done on our own. Examples are: tickets to the Cirque du Soleil show in Downtown Disney (and I'm talking front row seats!!), a romantic Fireworks cruise, a spa treatment for each of you, unlimited access to theme park tours, and dinner at Victoria and Albert's (actually all your meals are included with this plan, but this was one of our favorites!). Plus our travel agent contacted the hotel prior to us arriving and we were greeted in our room by a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of Champagne.
I also second suggestion for the lagoon view at the Poly. You could even put in a request for a Magic Kingdom view and watch the fireworks right from your balcony - talk about feeling like royalty!!

Much luck and happiness in your new life togther and happy planning!!

How romantic! Congratulations on your wedding and on making the most important decision as man and wife - Disney Honeymoon! ;) :D You will have the best time and memories...ah, I remember it well.

You musn't put anything on a list - just be prepared to do it all! LOL! Of course, since you MAY decide you just want some couple time, you may not be able to see everything. Fear not! All the reason to return for anniversary #1!

Beware - like the commercial, many have come home with an actual "living" Disney souvenir. :)
