Compare early June to Early Dec. crowds

Hi everyone,

We have traditionally gone in Dec, but with our daughter starting middle school, that is no longer available. Has anyone gone at both times and how would you compare the crowds. I know it will be more crowded, but this last Dec. was pretty crowded, we had 80 min. waits on some of the rides. We went during Pop warner week.

Thanks

Re: Compare early June to Early Dec. crowds

I think the crowds in early June will be around the same. Many schools are already out for the summer and no doubt vacations will start. It won't be quite as crowded as the last weeks of June, all of July or the first three weeks of August, but you will see some crowds. I am in the same boat with my DD and chose to go to WDW the very days of August into the first few days of September. She starts school on the 5th and we come home on the 4th. That week is suppose to be very low volume...that's what my research says anyway.

This is interesting. That's when we were there, and I didn't find it terribly crowded at all, except a few times in Fantasyland at MK. Maybe it's because if there's an 80 minute line, I just avoid it?

That would be why...I am the same way. If the wait time is over 30minutes, I pass..lol That's another reason why I tour the parks as soon as they open. I hit all the long-wait rides so I am never waiting over 15-20minutes to ride anything.

June crowds will be bad. But with school you have to do what you can. Just hit it early relax later in the day, and enjoy.

I agree. No matter what time of year you go, if you hit those parks first thing in the morning you will be able to ride everything with little or no wait. Most people are getting out of bed later cause they are on vacation....they are having breakfast while I am touring the entire fantasy land..lol when I leave the parks for my break before or after lunch, the crowds are just pouring in....love it!

Yeah, I was expecting alot less, like it was in previous years. We did avoid those rides, which ended up being my kiddos favorites. So we still ended up waiting for some of them. One day the fast passes were gone for BTMR. My expectations were a little high, so I thought it was crowded. The time before when we went, we rode splash mountain back to back, no waits. This time, it was 30 to 60 min and BTMR was 80min. So I was hoping for how it was. We still had a great time, though.

Re: Compare early June to Early Dec. crowds

I have been at both times, I definitely think June is more crowded than December. That being said, as long as you have a good game plan and are prepared, you will do fine. I have found with the Pop Warner gang it is hit or miss. We went in Dec. 2004 & Dec. 2005 while they were there, and it was definitely busier in 2004.

I totally agree with that!! I swear we "hit" them in every park last time!

Re: Compare early June to Early Dec. crowds

Thanks for all the answers! We always have a game plan and we are planning on staying 2 weeks, so that should help. I just wanted to have some verification on crowds.

Thanks again

Oh 2 weeks! That will be an awesome trip. You won't feel rushed, and it will make dealing with the crowds more bearable.

I was there the same time as you and I thought it was WAY more crowded than it normally is at that time of the year!
