Is there a way to find out when they tape the Christmas Parade at the MK? (I"m not talking about MVMCP...the one I'm talking about had Regis and Kelly hosting it). I know that they do not do it *on* christmas day. I think they did it near the begining of the month last year. I'd love to drive up for the day for that!!! Any way to find out when the taping will take place? I know they won't announce it for awhile yet, but I'd like to get a head start as to where to find out!!:D

It was taped on Saturday, December 7th, this past year. (8th? I think it was the 7th) I had one of those DUH! moments when I heard they were taping the Christmas Day show - I thought they taped it live... DH laughed at me all day.

, now slightly disappointed). I remember watching it this year, imagining what it would be like to be there.

I wonder if that's because the park is TOO packed on Christmas Day, and they can't get good crowd shots. I was noticing the crowd shots, and how well spaced they were. The park was by no means empty that day, and no one was googling over at the Kelly & Regis booth (which is maybe another bonus?)

Friends of ours who go Christmas week said it feels like 'their little secret' While the rest of America is watching a pre-recorded parade, they are there watching the 'real deal' in the parks. You're luck to be going! I know I'll be watching the fireworks on NYE and thinking "Hey, I know someone who's down there right now!" :D

They taped part of the parade when we were there on December 8th. I cant remember the name of the person singing but it was the one who was on the bridge going over to tomorrowland. When we got off Alien Encounter, we were approached by a CM and asked if we wanted to be in a video. They said it would take two hours and we of course did not want to give up two hours on our first day to the park. We walked over as far as we could and saw the guy singing later. We were never told it was going to be a part of the christmas day parade. Maybe we would have gone. Oh well, we had a great time at the park that day.:)

Well, that makes sense! GUess what??? I was at Disney that weekend!!! We didnt' go to the parks this trip, just resort hopped to see the decorations!!! Go figure, huh??? This year I hope to find out the exact date and be around for parts of it!!! :D I didn't know until last year that the parade wasn't live either! My mom said someone from here work was there when it was taped. I told them he was lying to her...it couldn't be taped..it was live..hehe:laugh :dazed Oh well, you live and learn huh?

We just happened to be there by luck. We had no idea it was going to be taped. I too thought is was actually live as the TV Guide says.

It was an all day event and fun to watch in between our MK adventures.

I'm sure they have to tape it in advance to get it edited properly. Too many bands, celebrities, etc. to set up and get them into 2 hours on one attempt.

I would do it again!

This sounds like alot of fun!! Whoever finds out when the parade is being taped,let us know,so we can all go and wear DisneyCentral T-Shirts and be in the crowd!!!

Remember this quite well, it was Dec. 8th, because we walked into the Magic Kingdom, and there was a sign, saying, that they were taping the xmas parade that day. Of course, we watched it for a while, and then just continued enjoying the day!!:) JOANN

What's good about having an AP, is that when we go for this, we won't have to worry about missing anything at the park that day, we're just gonna go down for that reason. We'll of course do a few rides, but it's just gonna be neat to be there and watch!! I'll post whenever I find out!

Ok, any new updates?? Anyone heard when its going to be taped?

I'm assuming (ok hoping :whistle: ) that it will be the weekend we are there 12/5-12/7!!;) We go to MVMCP 12/5, in the evening of 12/6 we hope to see the candlelite processional, and maybe be lucky to catch the taping of the "live" christmas parade during the day that saturday!! I just think it would be really cool to say we were there when it was taped!

None of you are going to believe this but, I have never seen this parade before. Is it usually shown on ABC? Xmas day is usually a race from one family members house to the next and I can't even get a second to breathe let alone watch TV. I have promised myself that this year will not be like that. I actually would like to make time to watch this.

It's usually on on Christmas morning. I would hazard a guess based on the past couple of years that if you're there on Saturday the 6th, there's a good chance it will be taped then.

They set up and do various shots a couple of days in advance, so you could always ask, too.

We didn't even know there was a Christmas parade at MK. Can't believe we've been missing it. What channel do they show it on? Is it on Christmas morning?:)
