How to make a child grow FAST?

I just measured ds5, thinking that he would have reached the required 44 inches to ride space mountain, and he came in at 42 3/4 inches.

I measured him a couple of months ago and thought he was 43 inches. I was sure he was going through a growth spurt, eating and sleeping more than usual, and now we find out he needs another 1 1/4 inches in just 90 days! I don't think it's going to happen.

Anyone have any tricks for making kids look taller than they really are inorder to get them on a ride?

He's going to be sooooooo bummed if he doesn't get to ride it.

I have the same problem! My DD (who'll be 4 when we go) is 2" too short for splash mountain & she is crushed! Her DD(6) is so excited to ride it for the 1st time (she chickened out last year) & of course, DD3 HAS to do whatever big sis does! LOL! We told her eating her Veggies & drinkig milk makes her grow. so, every night at dinner, she eats & then stands up & says "now am I big enough for splash mountain?"! Poor girl will be crushed when she's told she's not big enough!

with only an extra inch you should be good, go at the store with him and try basketball shoes or a walking shoe. Often those 2 type of shoes are quite close to 1 inch if not even more.

LOL, we've also been using this as a ploy to try to get him to eat better over the last few months.

For RnRC we went through w/ our DS6 and he was an inch too short. I took him to the nearest CS place and grabbed a stack of napkins, folded them in 1/2 and stuck in the bottom of each of his shoes. He slipped them back on and walked up to the same CM, was measured, given the OK to go through and had the biggest smile on his face I've ever seen. The next day we just put his Skechers on him-a skateboarding sneaker w/ extremely wide platform and he was good to go w/out the "stuffing"! This would be even easier for girls because some of the platform soles they have on those flipflops and sandals is BIG!

In May they took my son's hat off and measured him.

For us also, they most often asked to remove the hat.

Yup, they make you take off the hat.

You also never know with kids, they do have growth spurts, and 90 days is a good bit of time to grow!

I know how frustrating it is for your child to be a few inches short of the height requirement. If he is a half an inch or so under, I could see trying to make him get to that 44inches. A few inches however is a different story. Do remember that those height requirements (especially for rollercoaster) are there for safety. He could fall out etc or get seriously hurt. Having a dissappointed son is better than an injured one.

You're absolutely right Dana. I've thought the same thing myself.

I'm hoping for a big growth spurt for him within the next 90 days! It will be very hard for him to see his big sister going on the ride when he has watch from the sidelines. But there is no way I would trade his safety for any ride.
