Best way to collect Autographs

Sandy and I are going to be picking up some things for our new God Daughter Emily this trip and i thought about getting her a book of character autographs. Something her parents can put aside for her till she gets a little older. (she's only 7 months).

What's the best strategy for hunting down autographs without:

Being an obvious psycho & stalking characters all over the park

We plan on carrying the book with us everywhere and hopefully we'll just get lucky. We'd like to collect as many of "Well Known" characters as possible.

Thanks!

I dunno....I thought the fun of character autographs was collecting them yourself! Are you sure this isn't just for you? LOL

Re: Best way to collect Autographs

We collected many autographs for our children throughout the parks each visit. As far as the princess's go.. you can get most of them at a Character Breakfast. I know that we have just gotten very lucky and stumbled upon many characters that were signing autographs in little corners of the various parks. Mostly they are off the main path of traffic. For instance we found Jasmine and Alladin at Epcot hidden in a country. ON the other hand.. if you see a line of people standing for no apparent reason... that most likely is a character signing waiting to happen.

Re: Best way to collect Autographs

Character meals are a terrific way to interact with characters AND collect autographs. How cool would it be to have pictures that go along with the autographs??

Also, many of the character photo opportunities are scheduled in all the parks, so you can check the park times guides for specifics on that day.

I think some of the best opportunities to meet characters are at Epcot Center in the Country Pavillions. They generally are less crowded and less rushed, so you'll be able to take your time and get some great photo opportunities.

I will never forget when we met Belle and the Beast in France. Belle was explaining to DD, who was 7 at the time that Beast taught her how to dance. DD looked at her and said, "I take Irish Step lessons!" Belle asked for DD to dance for her.

So, there was DD, all proud of herself, stepping away and entertaining everyone.

It was a classic Disney memory.

I am a character freak so I can help !
Character connections in EPCOT is a great place to meet some characters.
Camp Mickey Minnie in The Animal Kingdom is also a great place.
The judges tent MK , and also character meals.
There is loads more.I will edit If I remeber any more.

Re: Best way to collect Autographs

you know ddoll.. i knew you were a troublemaker

seriously.... there's no way little Emily is going anywhere near disney for the forseeable future so we figured we'd get some stuff for her, like her first set of ears...etc.

Not that i would't mind collecting a set of autographs for myself (ahem) but this was really for her.

Re: Best way to collect Autographs

The best way to collect autographs? Keep your books on you AT ALL TIMES WHENEVER YOU'RE ON DISNEY PROPERTY. Guys the characters are everywhere. They're not just at the points indicated on guide maps. They can show up very unexpectedly at any location. Case in point. 3 new characters from Meet the Robinsons will be arriving VERY soon to Disney/MGM studios. And it won't be announced or any guide map. You'll have to look for them. Dumbo can very unexpectedly show up at his ride. Just take things slooooow and easy. Don't be in such a rush to do everything in the park or you very well might miss the characters.
