I called disney reservations this morning. I asked if the rumor was true...that the dates for Star Wars weekends were throughout June. They claim the official dates have yet to be released and that the wdwnews.com website is not an official disney site so they said what I read there may or may not be true.

We have reservations for Memorial Day weekend...thinking it was a Star Wars weekend. I am really not sure what to do...to change the weekend to June or wait it out.

Anyone else in this situation?

Actually Caramia, we are in the same boat too! We are going on May 18th, which was to be the first weekend of the Star Wars weekends and we picked that time just for that reason! I don't know who you spoke with at WDW reservations, but wdwnews.com is an official website for WDW. When I worked at our local newspaper, we had access to that website. It is to be used by any media outlet out there for reporting on WDW news.

I have no idea what we are going to do now. I will have to talk to my DH and see what he thinks!

I called back and got the same answer from a different castmember. I must say..the last few people I spoke to were not very disneylike. I understand they are annoyed because they are asked the same questions a million times a day but that is the job. They should be a little nicer.


I was considering booking June 22nd weekend and just not putting the deposit down yet. Then if the dates came out within the next 2 weeks I could would cancel the un-needed reservation. I asked the castmember if I could do it and he said he couldnt. Then I asked if I could book under my husband's name and he said he wouldnt do it unless we were really anticipating going twice because it was cheating the system. I understand the reasoning and kinda agreed. However, there is no way he would know if we were really planning on going once in May and once in June (we are passholders and live close so we actually could do it) or not.

I am going to talk todh tonight and see if he thinks we should change the dates now or wait it out. I am hoping the May dates are accurate and we could leave the reservation.

Geez - wish they would announce the dates already!

I know. I just checked the Star Wars official website and they are stating that the dates are not confirmed yet. They keep calling reps too and they are stating that wdwnews.com is just a reference site and nothing has been set in stone yet for the dates. I think we are just going to leave everything the way it is right now and see what happens. The only reason I could see them not having the Star Wars Weekends in May is that there is a huge convention for Star Wars fans in Los Angeles (Celebration IV) May 24-28. From what I have read, this going to be the largest one yet with the most celebrities from all the Star Wars movies. I guess we will just have to wait and look for the official word. Hopefully it is soon!

I thought I would post this because I thought it was funny. I just checked wdwnews and the dates for the Star Wars Weekends have been taken off. They were there this morning when I called my DH at work to tell him the news. Disney reservations must have been getting too many calls about this. I guess it's back to the waiting game!

Yeah, I just found that too. I am bummed. We planned our trip around going to SWW in May. My DH and I talked about it last night and I think we are going to go ahead and stick with our vacation in May instead of trying to switch everything to June. Oh well, I guess that means we have to plan a trip next year around it. LOL

Allears reports that it will be Friday,Saturday and Sundays in June. I don't know if that helps or not.

We are also in the same boat. We were planning to go down on May 18 and stay through the next weekend to catch two SWWs. Now, I think we will go down May 27 and stay through June 2, hoping to catch SWW on June 1 & 2. I do wish they would confirm something SOON!!!!

My superiors told me now the plan is the month of June. Starting on the first Friday of the month, which I think is the 3rd. I know things are always subject to change, but if you guys are still unsure and definitely want to be part of this amazing event, then just plan for the first 2 weekends of June, because beyond a shadow of a doubt SWW will be taking place then.

The first Friday is actually the 1st and we will be there!!!!!

SWW doesn't really have a parade. It's a giant calvacade with the guest celebrities riding in the cars to the stage to be introduced for the day. It happens every day of SWW.
