After putting in our dates, all I can say is "I waited for that?" We will be booking with another carrier.

Actually, I just booked ours through Southwest. Our fares weren't too bad at all, plus we had funds left over from last year to use, so we got a pretty good deal.

I just went on Southwest.com and it's still only through May 10th. Did you book through phone, or am I looking in the wrong spot?

Make sure to reload the site. I hit the book travel at the top of the page, not on the side. Hope it works for you.

That has been out experience with Southwest. The airfares will generally drop as the flight date gets closer - unless, of course, it is already sold out or selling out. It seems that buying airline tickets is like speculating on the stock market.

We've looked at other carriers. You can book further out, but almost always at a much higher price. Remember, you can always book SW now and rebook for a credit if the rates drop. We did it twice for our last trip and saved nearly $200.00 on two tickets.

I read that Southwest is doing 20 Dings a day for 20 weeks in honor of their 20th Anniversary. I am still waiting for the right DING! Just FYI the specials are suppose to continue until the 18th of June (actual Anniv. date) So maybe there are some great deals to come.

Also if you can look into flying into Tampa. It helped us in Jan. We flew into Tampa for $44 and out of Orlando for $49 and got a credit for the difference in the fares we had booked earlier.

I can't wait until they release fares for December. I am waiting on airtran and allegiant air also to try and snag the best deal.
