Baby Swap

Exactly how does the baby swap thing work? Does everyone get in line at the ride then tell the CM you're swapping? Or what?

Also, say DH and DNiece ride the first time, on the second time can DNiece ride again with me? And do all of the thrill rides offer this baby swap thing?

You tell the first CM that you see....and the next and every one until they know that you are doing the baby swap for sure. You and DN can ride while the little one and DH wait....when they come back, DN can stay on with DH while you wait. DN is going to make out like a bandit..lol

This is such a great idea that WDW has implemented. Like Dana said, your DN will make out like a bandit. We have done this lots with our kids and it is great. They get to ride once with mom and once with dad, so they ride twice as much as the grown ups.

You can baby swap on all rides where a child doesn't meet the height requirement if there is one. I think you are allowed to do it for rides that the kids are afraid to ride too....not sure on that one. I have never used the baby swap...just read about it.

I'm just confirming, are you required to wait on line with your child before the swap? Or are you able to walk to the front of the line and swap?

Do tell a cast member at the entrance to the attraction that you want to do a baby swap. The CM will give you a pass that is good for at least 2 riders, & you go with the babe & wait somewhere near the attraction's exit. The first riders wait in the regular line unless you have a Fast Pass for the ride. When they exit the ride, you take an additional rider and your pass and enter the ride through the Fast Pass lane. The beauty of the Baby Swap is that if you combine it with Fast Passes, you can hold FP for more than one ride! On our last trip, we traveled with 2 adults & 2 children plus 1 under 3. We would get 2 FP for one ride and 2 for another. With the BS we didn't need any more than 2 at a time, as the Baby Swap pass sent us through the FP lane anyway. Of course this only works with rides that the little ones can't ride.

My DD always makes out like a bandit also. DS is 1 and DD is 6.
We Baby Swap all the big rides. She goes on once with Dad and again with me. Poor DS really gets the short end of the stick!

my friend Christie has a baby and she would sit in line with us then when we got to the front the cast member would give her 2 fastpass's then all the other kids would ride with me and another mom! Then we would pick a number to see who got to ride with Christie for a second time!

I've heard this baby swap thing is done in several different ways now. I guess we'll just have to tell every CM we see and follow their directions
