Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

Question: Should WDW resort guests get unlimited "Fast Pass" privileges in the parks?

We are staying at Royal Pacific Universal Orlando this trip. As a perk for staying on-site at UO we get what they call "Express Pass Plus" or what would be equivalent to unlimited FP at WDW when we go to US and IOA.

Don't get me wrong, we love WDW and only do UO because of the two DS's, but complimentary EPP is a great benefit (and the Royal Pacific isn't too shabby either!). Hopefully going to UO isn't considered blasephemy on this site! We alternate years between WDW and UO. We are also going to go to MNSSHP this trip and spend the first part of the day at Down Town Disney.

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

Interesting idea. Don't know that it would be plauseable though because WDW has many more resorts than UO, that equals to lots more guest. I do agree with you about the Royal Pacific though! We stayed just after it opened and loved it. The only problem? Tchoup Chop wasn't open yet:( Another thing we noticed was that when we went(arrived the Friday after Thanksgiving at UO) there were NO crowds..we walked right on EVERYTHING! So....the advantage of staying and having unlimited FP at UO was pointless for that trip...oh well...we liked that we could take the water taxi to the parks and City Walk.

They should do more for AP holders. We should be included in EMH night.

This would probably be a logistical nightmare for WDW. This is like comparing apples to oranges.

We went to Royal Pacific October of 2003 and Tchoup was open and good but really over priced IMHO. Service was so so, the food was not up to what I expected from Emeril and the food was not on par with the price. IOA and UO were crowded when we went so the unlimited FP was cool. My youngest DS went on Spiderman 5 times in a row and only took like 20 minutes to do it.

Wouldn't it be great to get something like that at WDW? Think of the time you could spend at the resorts and doing extras WDW.

Maybe for Moderate and up resorts?

Just a thought!

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

WDW is planning on doing more for their resort guests. That's what the new proposal for the fastpass changes was a few months back. They want to include extra priveleges such as making FP's from your room or from your cell phone as well as the ability to hold more than one FP and to get FP's from any machine for any ride.

And you're own personal CM to carry you on their shoulders, right.

Anyway, we've had this discussion before. I think UO system is unfair to every non-resort guest who pays full admission. Of course, I don't care, because I don't got to UO.

However, ol' Walt would have hated that plan. Once a person is through the gate during regularly scheduled hours, he should be treated as well as any other guest. There are plenty of perks for resort guests--free parking, free transportation, EMH. I don't think unlimited FP would increase resort stays, and would only serve to make non-resort guests rethink going to WDW on their vacations.

With all due respect, they do a great service to AP holders at WDW. Reduced ticket prices and special deals for resort stays available only to AP holders. AP holders are AP holders because they can go to WDW pretty much at will because of their proximity to WDW. I spend about $4500+ for a seven day trip to WDW for a family of four on-site stay including airfare and food.

Their is no doubt in my mind that AP holders are the life-blood of WDW because you visit more often. But that is why you tickets are so cheap.

I agree with your point that AP holders usually live close enough to WDW and visit a lot more often then traditional vacationers. I am an AP holder for the DLR and we go VERY often and sometimes we go on rides, other times we don't. That's the joy of being an AP. I don't think it would be fare to vacationers who don't visit often if DLR had EMH and AP holders were included as well. I can go back lots of time for gosh sake, they are only there for a week or two(most of the time). I think keeping EMH a resort guest only benefit is a great idea!

Dude, I was just posing a question. I didn't mean to kick anyone's puppy. I am a new member so I don't really know what's been talked about here before. Maybe you have been inhaling something besides air down in those mines, but that isn't my bad. Jeese!

By the way, IMHO life ain't fair. If a private business wants to treat people different based on the money they spend, more power to them. Free enterprise will judge wether it was a sound decision or not. When Mickey has a MCCCP party I'll take notice.

Now about that CM carrying me....

I think AP holders should be included in that category of "resort guests" - it wouldn't be good to alienate those who visit often, but who live too close to stay overnight all the time.

Actually, I think it was I who got in trouble (not you) for my suggestion that AP holders be included in EMH night.

I rarely use fastpass, because I go so much. As long as Fastpass is available to everyone in some form,I don't mind if resort guests get to do them from their rooms.

He put your quote but responded to my question. Again, the cave air kicking in. I just thought I would take the heat for you.

I'll still get paid every two weeks regardless of what he thinks, so in his words "Of course, I don't care".

I don't think so . Just because I stay on site I don't think I am any more special or deserve more privledges than someone going to WDW for a day trip and not staying on site.Just my opinion.
