to drink the water at WDW parks or not to..

I have read some horrible things about the water at WDW. IS it really that bad?

I am pretty picky about my city tap water. I haven't ever had bad bottled water and I can't stand well water unless it is ice cold.

So should I avoid WDW water? I don't want to spend a small fortune on water or carry a ton with me. Seems like everyone would be sick if it's bad water doesn't:hmmm

Oh why do I have to read this stuff.:dazed

I remember the water was moderately bad, especially when warm. To save on buying water all the time, in the morning, we used to fill my 2 DD's water bottles with ice and then tap off with water. The bottles lasted a few hours. Our next trip will include a couple of gallons before entering WDW property. Cheers.;pirate:

I'm sure everyone knows the concept of the Britta water filter that you put on your kitchen sink tap.

Well, they have a portable take and go water bottle that has a filter on it. You can fill them up from the water fountains in the parks and it filters the water through the spout {somehow}. They are $7.99 at our local WalMart and they are called the "Britta Take and Go". We are buying one for each of us before our trip. Kind of a pricey investment for a water bottle, but if you buy 3 bottles of "Disney Water" each day you are in the parks, They would pay for themselves very quickly!

We never noticed them, until our last trip, our son got to that "age" where he had to drink out of everyone he saw! lol!!

Some of them in EPCoT even talk while you are drinking!

You can also go up to any refreshment stand and ask for a cup of ice water for free.

We used the Britta water bottles. Filled them with ice and water at the resort and brought them with us to the parks. They worked great. The water tasted really good.

We love bottled water so we went to Sam's and bought a TON. We only took 2 bottles a day with us into the park and ended up buying water the rest of the day. My sister spend over $250 on water!!! (She drinks alot of water all the time!) The fountains IMHO are NASTY. If you are driving you could freeze a few gallons of your water and take them with you in a cooler and then take a water bottle to fill up.

This is a really great idea!! Whenever we go to the parks (just driving up for the day) I freeze 2 or 3 bottles to bring w/us, and they melt throughout the day. But I'm not too sure how to do this for a weeks stay. I think if we freeze maybe a 6 pack (of water..hehe) before we go, and just keep them in the cooler w/ice, maybe they'll last for a few days!?

Its not just the water in WDW... its Florida water in general that tastes bad. I always buy bottled water at the parks. I don't think we spent too much. maybe in all... $50-75 at most.

I still think that spending any amount of money on water is terrible when you can get free ice water at any refreshment stand.

I guess I'll stick to bottled water

I heard that adding kool-aid or crystal light mix kills the bad taste, but I am more worried about getting sick from all the sulfur and chlorine in the water than the taste. I figure a bottle of water each(5,couple frozen) to get us through most the day(warm water is better than no water). Then if we have to splurge on a bottle each or other drink the cost shouldn't get too bad. I guess I would rather spend $20 on water a day then be dehydrated and sick. I figure after you think about how much the whole trip costs, whats another $100 bucks on water:laugh

Does disney care if you bring in bottled water, obviously they will see my snacks and water when they check the diaper bag at the gate?

No, they don't care. I always bring bottled water to all the parks. They've always checked it and let us in w/out even a question about it! And we also bring in snacks and they never say anything about that either!:D
