Just a FYI, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride will be closed for refurbishment starting Friday, April 25th through June 27th, 2003. It is scheduled to re-open on Saturday, June 28, 2003.

The gift shop will remain opened during this refurbishment.

I assume you are talking about WDW? :devil :madmad This is a *must* for my son and I. I am of course, really uspset about this now. We don't do a lot of the rides, Splash MOuntoun, the Railroad, or space mountain. Pooh is our favorite. I wouldn't think they would close anything down during such a busy time!(unless it was like falling apart of something, then I'd understand!;) ) It would just figure..Hey, while I'm at it....(since i have a SPLITTING headache/migrain and am stuck at work) when the heck are they going to come out w/AP rates for June??? (ok, off topic I know...but had to vent!);)

Well, now I will just hope that they will have fireworks and spectro at least once during our stay, to make up for Pooh ride being down! (I"m keeping my fingers crossed!:D )

Goofygal, I hear you. When are they going to come out with those AP rates? I've been calling every day, one guy told me that if they have them, they'll post them in the next mickey monitor. A lot of good that will do, it won't be out until May, and we are going the first week of May. Oh well....... the FL resident rate was still a good one.

Geesh..first we have to change hotels...then there are no night parades or fireworks at MK while we are there...now no Pooh. I hate to even think what might be next!

Yeah, I"m not too sure how much better the AP rates can get over the FL resident rate, but (only because of the headach...:whistle: ) i'm ready to complain. I'm really hoping that maybe it will go down $5 or $10/night. I know...whishfull thinking....But I will be happy w/the FL resident rate if that's all that is available. :D

Not that there isn't plenty to do otherwise, but the other night son #2 and I were watching the DVD and he was saying he can't wait to ride Pooh......

Not to mention it is one of my favorite rides as well.........

I know, same here. My son and I were looking at photos the other night, and he saw pictures of us on pooh ride..and he was excited about going on it again.:cry: We'll just have to ride his other fav a few more extra times to make up for it.... TTA!! (last year we rode it FIVE times in one day...hehe!:dazed :laugh

I'm glad I rode it while I was there on April 3rd. I generally don't care for the Pooh character,but the ride is fun.

This is really bad (relatively speaking) news. My daughter's favorite thing in the whole world is winnie the pooh and she couldn't wait to go back on this ride. I heard this rumor about a week ago on screamscape and I called and they said they had no idea what i was talking about and that there was no notice of closing the ride. Guess the cm's just didn't have the info yet. This is really sad for us

This is our first trip and probably only trip for a few years. We arrive on the 27th and my 3yr old was most looking forward to the POOH RIDE. What am I to do? How do I break the news to her? Next you'll tell me it's a small world will be down too. Between the cancelation of fantasy in the sky shows and this I am starting to get depressed and I am going to be in Disney World in less than 9 days!!!

All we have talked about is how cool the honey pots are.:cry:

I just went to disneyworld.com and there is nothing listed as of yet for the Pooh ride, nor at Deb's site at www.wdwig.com. Deb's site is usually on top of all the refurbs (even before disneyworld.com:nervous )

Until I see it officially on one of these 2 sites, I'm holding out hope. It's the optimist in me....

OK, I'm done throwing stuff around my desk. So far this is only a rumor, right. I would like to see the sources of this rumor substantiated before I go nuts any further. I know Disney is reluctant to release rehab info too far in advance, but I have to wait this one out.

jmouse, perhaps you could enlighten us on where you heard this information. I know many DC members, including myself, are going in May, and would like to know any details.

Angie, the rumor you read on screamscape was dated April 7. This was 10 days ago and I could not find any other source of this information. Therefore, there is some hope. I can't see the ride shut down for a whole 2 months. Seems suspicious, especially with Disney being so cost concious. A 2 month period sounds like a major refurbishment, and not just an equipment update or safety change. Technologically, there really isn't much to the ride. Lets hope and pray.:nervous
