Re: Crowds/Weather in August&Sept

I've been in both August and September. It's HOT (upper 90's) in August and really really warm in Sept (upper 80's). Crowds are significantly lighter after Labor Day since most schools across the country are in session. The last week of August isn't as busy as the rest of the summer though. I'd highly recommend going in Sept if you can swing it. It's wonderful!

Re: Crowds/Weather in August&Sept

We have been there the last week of Sept. and it was hot !!! (remember I'm a Jersey Boy) We are going the last week of Aug. this year, and plan on taking advantage of the Beach Club Resort if we get too hot. All our trips we never really took advantage of our hotels. So we are covered either way.

Re: Crowds/Weather in August&Sept

We went in October of 2005 and then 10 months later we went again in August of 2006. Our group agreed it was hotter and muggier in October!
I was so afraid to go in August because I just thought I would melt into a puddle but it was bearable and we had a great time. We are actually going again this August. Just pace yourself and drink lots of water.

Re: Crowds/Weather in August&Sept

We have been in Aug 04, Oct 05 and September 06 and it was HOT and HUMID! Crowds were really light in Oct 05 and light to moderate in September 06. We were there in early August....so crowds were heavy.
Just be prepared for heat...go to the parks early in the AM or late at night. Plan pool time, drink a lot of water, plan a waterpark day or a pool day and everything will be great.. you are in WDW!

We had always gone in October and found that crowds were light. But in October 05 it was so crowded when we went we had decided not to go again in October because it wasn't worth pulling the kids out of school to go when it was the same or lighter crowds in August. Also the heat was unbeleivable then. So now we go in August and found that we have done Disney so many times that we pick and choose what we want to wait for or not wait for.

We are going Aug 10-16.

Re: Crowds/Weather in August&Sept

There is one weekend in October which is slammed. Columbus day. If that is when you went, that's why.

Re: Crowds/Weather in August&Sept

I was there last year during the last week in August and it was hot but not unbearable. I would say of our 7 day stay, we really only had one and a half days where we felt like we were possibly going to melt. We did have to carry our ponchos with us though because there were unpredictable showers a lot, but that was no big deal.
