I'm confused again! I'm trying to make dining reservations according to what park we will be visiting. I want to visit the parks that have extra magic hours.

I was able to view the calendar on Disney.com. But, I'm confused (common state for me). Ok, here is my question. Like on 8/26 for MK it says 9-9 extra magic hours.....is there extra hours or 9-9 the extra magic hours?

You have to click on that EXTRA MAGIC HOURS link on the bottom of the calendar box.

For 8/26, MK has EVENING EMH, which means the park will be open until Midnight!

MK's only open until 9 in late August? That's pretty fishy. We were there on this Sunday last year and MK was open until 10 or possibly 11. With the EMH we were in the park at least until 1.

Soundgod, aren't they doing Pirate and Princess Parties in August? Maybe because the parks are open until the wee hours in the summer the P&P Parties won't start until 9pm? Just an off the top of my head guess, lol. Or maybe they are only open to the GP until 9pm, and the EMH starts then...

The days that the PPP's are going on, the parks will close at 7pm.

They generally don't do the hard ticket parties on weekends, though in the past (2002), the Halloween party has been on Sunday. tonyksl's right, the park closes at 7 PM on party nights, and surely would not have an EMH scheduled. They would remain open until 9 and then herd all those without wristbands toward the exit. My comment was more about MK even closing at 9 instead of 10 on a Sunday night in August. Doesn't much matter if you're a Disney resort guest. You'll have the park until midnight as a worst case, but the later the EMH ends, the better you'd be, because the crowd drops exponentially after 11.

I'm confused as well. I've never taken advantage of EMH because I've always gone with my family and they didn't want to get up early or stay up that late. Now that it's just DH and me, I'd like to experience them! How do I know if the EMH are in the AM or in the PM?

On the Disney Calendar you can click on any of the EMH days and there is a full list of the months and which days are morning and which are evenings.

As said, the Disney calender on the WDW site is your first stop. Follow any EMH link to the EMH page which will have several month's schedules in advance, currently through October. AllEarsNet.com is another main stop for this info. Once you get to WDW, this info is given to you in your check in info package and all park schedules will note when their magic hours will occur.
