Best week in Jan.

a couple of recent threads have made me question what i thought i already knew!!??

so i figured i should poll the masses and see what all of you think!

the dates of the marathon :Jan 11-13
MLK day : Jan. 21 ~ so 19-21 are not good.

~~ which time would be less crowded:

before the marathon: Jan 7-11 M-F
after the marathon / before MKL day : Jan 14-18 M-F

we were there last year the week AFTER the marathon & the crowds were super low. and i have read many threads on another site that say the crowds are lower after...but i know we have some MB runners , and i thought i should see what they do!

when do you go?? do you stay before or after the marathon?

Have you checked touringplans.com to see which week is the least crowded.

The site is asking for passwords from the Unofficial Guide. If you don't have them I'm sure someone will look it up for you. I would but my book is out on loan.

before the marathon and before MLK. Personally, my ultimate week at WDW is the week after MLK...it is dead! perfect time to go there.

We've been at WDW almost every week in January and the only time the crows were really bad were immediately after New Year's, for a couple of days and MLK weekend. We've been there through several marathons and I have to say that they don't make much difference in the crowds at all. And as soon as it's over the crowd level goes right down. If you can choose a time when you can avoid these couple of dates, you'll have the parks to yourself.

well, like a total over planner...i did too much research and starrted to feel like my original ressies for the week before were not the best choice. we were there the week after, (like i dais before), and the crowds were super low. so i called and changed them to the week after!!! then DH got hoem & we talked it over and decide that the week before would logically be lower...people are not goign to want to hoof it around the parks BEFORE the marathon if they are running it!! so i called and changed it back to the week prior to the run.

sooooo.....we shall see if there is really any diff. we did it one way last time, doing it the other this next time!!

still want any and all opinions......not that i am going to change my choice, but it's still fun to see what others have to say about it! ;c)
