Character Costumes?

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I've been on here, but I have a question for all of you Disney Fanatics...

Okay, so, I'm going in about a month and I was wondering if I should dress up as Capt. Jack Sparrow. I have a good costume for him, but I wasn't sure if it would be awkward...

Re: Character Costumes?

Hi there Mr Maleficent! I bet your costume is great, but costumed adults are not allowed in the parks unless you are there for a MNSSHP, sorry

Re: Character Costumes?

Well, I'm 17 when I'm going, so technically I'm not an adult..is that okay then? Or still no?

Ha..good question..but I don't want to disappoint you but probably not..I think it's the whole "the little kids might think you are a character" type of thing..maybe you could just wear a part of it (like the shirt or something) because you always see people wearing hats and stuff?

Re: Character Costumes?

Definitely don't let it discourage you from getting your picture with the REAL Capt. Jack while down here though.

This is an extremely important point considering the "Santa Claus" flap during last Christmas when a guest was telling other guest children that he was Santa when asked because with just a Santa hat and red suspenders, he looked like Santa. Disney politly asked him to remove the hat, he refused, so he was bounced.

Re: Character Costumes?

No Ariel, a big fat white man with a long white beard wearing red suspenders and a Santa Claus hat in the Magic Kingdom the week before Christmas.

Re: Character Costumes?

Sorry, that would be cool, but probably not unless you were going to MNSSHP or the Pirate and Princess Party, which was amazing by the way!

Re: Character Costumes?

It might confuse the little guests who might think you are the REAL CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow. You know he pops in at WDW when he's not meeting cruise guest at Castaway Cay.

Two weeks before Christmas? Nobody in retail gets any time off between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Santa's waist deep in shipping manifests and production backlogs, same as Toys R Us.
