Carousel of Progress ...

The last time we were in WDW, they told us that they were going to do away with the COP. We always took it in whenever we visited. It was a landmark! Can anyone tell me, is it gone or is it still there? If it's gone what attraction took it's place?

Still there...rumors are always flying, but it's been open much more often recently (it was only open seasonally for awhile) so there is hope!!!

It was there in January...We did COP about 4 times, and were sure to mention it to the cm doing surveys at the entrance/exit! Anything we can do to keep it around is worth the time.

We always go at busy times and CoP is always open. I know it could be closed at any point so we try to hit it a couple of times every trip just in case.

A big 'thank you' to all of you! It was a CM working at the COP that told us that it was closing after that summer. I am so happy to hear that it is still there! IT'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW.....

I love it too, but it wouldnt surprise me in the least if they did away with it. Thats just the way Disney is now. Classics are good, but they just dont seem to have a place in the World.

I haven't heard anything recently but heard rumors a while back (a few years ago) that it would be closing because it was down so frequently. We've all been in that theater when the seats stop turning and then the music and sycronization get messed up! LOL Anyway, COP is one of my faves!! I will be so disappointed if it ever goes away! :(

I love Cop. We do it every time. It seems to be open more regularly in recent months. I hope it stays forever.

Also one of my all time favorites. The rumors have been flying for quite a while but I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon. It's a piece of Disney history and I think it should be around forever, personally.

I thought they just did a small rehab on it? I seem to hear rumors of it closing pretty frequently, but then it's always there. So who knows? I make a point of going on it now when we can so if it disappears then I know I have a recent memory at least.
