Wonderful Weeks of Disney

I was just on the Disney.com site. The week that I will be there in November is listed as one of the wonderful weeks of Disney, but I can't find anything that says what special events are actually occuring that week. Does anyone know anything about this? thanks!

Re: Wonderful Weeks of Disney

All I can find on disney.com is Osborne Lights, MVMCP and International food and wine, all of which happen more than just the week of Nov 11-18 which is listed as a Wonderful Week of Disney. I can't find anything exclusive to the weeks they have listed.

The week we're going in May is also listed and I think the Flower & Garden Festival is all that is listed. It also goes on more than just the one week. So I'm with you on being a tad confused??

Overstating the obvious, but isn't any week at Disney wonderful?

Of course you're right. That's why all of us were confused and some of us didn't know what to say

Re: Wonderful Weeks of Disney

I think it's listed as wonderful because the crowds are a bit lighter, and they are encouraging attendance.

Personally, while I'm there in 2 weeks, I'd rather no one else knew it was a light crowd time!!

Re: Wonderful Weeks of Disney

I totally agree that any week at disney is a wonderful week, and I had thought maybe they listed it as WWoD because of the smaller crowds, but I wasn't sure. Disney.com even has a special page for wonderful weeks, so I wasn't sure if I had missed something or not.

Re: Wonderful Weeks of Disney

This is what I found on about.com and disney.com--I hope it helps:

Ever heard of the "Wonderful Weeks of Disney?" My sister discovered one when she was trying to book a family vacation before summer is in full swing. She tried week after week to book a Disney resort, only to find them sold out for most of April and May. Then she stumbled on the week of May 27-June 2. The week after Memorial Day is, surprisingly, the one week of spring when the crowds moderate and the resort rates drop. The next "Wonderful Week" doesn't occur until August.

disney.com:
Not only does that week include a three-day weekend, but this year, it coincides with the International Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot, which has been extended for two months (through June 3). Over at the Magic Kingdom, the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor debuts after an annual passholder preview this weekend.

Spirited Atmosphere and Events
Fall at Walt Disney World® Resort features autumn enchantment, milder weather and lively special events. Ring in the holiday season during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party† at Magic Kingdom® Park. Indulge in the exquisite tastes of the Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival. And don't miss your chance to experience the magic of The Year of a Million Dreams, which ends December 31, 2007

Re: Wonderful Weeks of Disney

Thanks col19! I guess it is the lower crowds. Disney isn't really clear on that one. Sounds great to me though since I will be there during one of WWoD!

Re: Wonderful Weeks of Disney

I'm also there during a Wonderful Week of Disney in August. The Disney website stated that it could be lighter crowds, better weather or lower rates; I think I qualified for two out of the three!!

I love the previous response that any week is a wonderful week at Disney

Re: Wonderful Weeks of Disney

Here's the link on that.

Walt Disney World Resort - Detecting Browser Properties . . .

Apparently, I am going during a wonderful week at disney as well. My take on them calling it a "wonderful week" is value season rates and low crowds.
